Science fiction and fantasy fans have a lot to look forward to this week with a diverse range of new releases. There’s everything from animated time travel adventures to dark, gothic stories about living forever and intriguing digital mysteries. Whether you prefer seeing movies in theaters or streaming from home, these new films and shows offer something for everyone. Expect to see both beloved characters return and exciting new faces begin their own epic adventures.

‘The Muppet Show’ (1976–1981)

Kermit and Miss Piggy are bringing ‘The Muppet Show’ back to television with a new special on February 4th! The show will feature music, comedy, and a guest appearance by singer Sabrina Carpenter. Fans can expect classic Muppet sketches and plenty of laughs as the beloved characters return to ABC, offering a fresh dose of variety entertainment.

‘Dracula’ (2026)

A new gothic horror film, ‘Dracula,’ starring Caleb Landry Jones and Christoph Waltz, will be released in select theaters on February 6th. The movie tells the story of a prince from the past who loses his faith and is cursed to live forever after his wife dies. Now an immortal warrior, he travels through time searching for his beloved, while others try to destroy him. This version of the Dracula story emphasizes the romance and the difficulties of eternal life. You can see it in select cinemas.

‘OBEX’ (2026)

I’m really intrigued by this new movie, ‘OBEX,’ coming out February 6th! It’s about a guy named Conor Marsh who starts playing this old-school computer game, set way back before the internet was a thing. The story centers around his dog, Sandy, going missing, and things get seriously weird when the game world starts bleeding into his real life. It sounds like he actually has to go inside the game to find Sandy! From what I’ve heard, it’s a cool mix of tech and suspense, with a lot of psychological thrills along the way.

‘Time Hoppers: The Silk Road’ (2026)

I’m really excited about this new movie, ‘Time Hoppers: The Silk Road,’ coming out February 7th! It’s about four kids from a future school who accidentally figure out how to travel through time. They end up way back on the Silk Road, and have to protect some important scientists from a villainous alchemist who wants to mess with history. Basically, they’re trying to save the past to save their future – and it’s a pretty cool mix of historical adventure and futuristic tech. Emily Gin and Jayce McKenzie are doing voices, and it sounds like a fun, family-friendly movie that everyone can enjoy.
