This week offers a wide range of scary entertainment, from a Stephen King-style nightmare to a suspenseful thriller on Netflix and even a wild zombie battle featuring drag queens! We’ve got quick summaries of each new movie and show – what it’s about, the cast, and the filmmakers – plus details on when and where you can watch them.
‘The Running Man’ (2025)

Edgar Wright’s latest film is a fresh take on Stephen King’s novel about a deadly game show where contestants, called “runners,” are hunted by professional killers. Wright co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall. The movie stars Glen Powell alongside a talented cast including Emilia Jones, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Colman Domingo, William H. Macy, and Michael Cera. With music by Steven Price and cinematography by Chung-hoon Chung, this version promises a fast-paced and stylish experience, different from the 1987 film. It will be released in theaters on November 14, 2025.
‘Shelby Oaks’ (2024)

Chris Stuckmann’s first feature film is a spooky mystery about Mia Brennan’s search for her sister, who disappeared while working with a group that investigated paranormal activity. The film stars Camille Sullivan, Brendan Sexton III, Keith David, and other talented actors, with Mike Flanagan as one of its executive producers. Early reviews praise the film’s suspenseful moments and atmospheric storytelling. You’ll be able to purchase it digitally starting November 11, 2025.
‘Queens of the Dead’ (2025)

Tina Romero’s horror-comedy follows a group of drag queens and club kids in Brooklyn as they fight off zombies during a warehouse party. The film, produced by Vanishing Angle with Matt Miller and Natalie Metzger, blends humor, a vibrant music scene, and plenty of gore. After premiering at Tribeca and a small release in theaters, it will be available to rent or buy online starting November 11, 2025.
‘Body Cam’ (2018– )

I’m really hooked on this Investigation Discovery series! It’s amazing how they piece together actual police bodycam footage to show you exactly what happens during intense situations, from the very first call to how everything gets resolved. They mix in interviews and radio chatter too, so you get a minute-by-minute look at the tough choices officers have to make. It’s rated TV-14, and new episodes are coming out on November 12, 2025, so I’ve marked my calendar!
‘The Murder Tapes’ (2019– )

This true-crime series follows homicide investigations from start to finish, using a detective’s perspective and real evidence like interrogation footage, home security videos, and body-cam recordings. The show is produced by Blackfin, with Geno McDermott as one of its executive producers. Directors like Ricky Lewis and Jake Christopher have worked on episodes, and Dave DeAndrea provides narration. New episodes will premiere November 12, 2025, on Investigation Discovery.
‘The Beast in Me’ (2025)

This upcoming Netflix limited series, created by Gabe Rotter and led by showrunner Howard Gordon, stars Claire Danes as a writer who becomes fascinated with her mysterious neighbor, whom she suspects in his wife’s disappearance. Matthew Rhys plays the neighbor, and the cast also features Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, and Jonathan Banks. Jodie Foster and Conan O’Brien are among the producers. Netflix describes the show as a suspenseful psychological thriller exploring themes of grief, obsession, and the secrets hidden behind closed doors. It will begin streaming on November 13, 2025.
‘Last Samurai Standing’ (2025)

As a huge fan of samurai films and thrillers, I’m really excited about this new Japanese series coming to Netflix! It’s set in the early Meiji era and revolves around a dangerous competition where samurai fight for survival. The main character, Shujiro, is fighting to protect his family and village, which already sounds intense. I’ve seen the cast includes Junichi Okada, Yumia Fujisaki, and Kaya Kiyohara, and Netflix is describing it as a dark and suspenseful period piece. Apparently, there’s a huge prize on the line, and the show uses a battle-royale format, so the stakes are incredibly high. Mark your calendars – it drops on November 13, 2025!
‘My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva LaRue Story’ (2025)

The Paramount+ docuseries follows the twelve-year stalking of actress Eva LaRue and her daughter, Kaya. It details how investigators identified their stalker and the emotional impact on the family. The series covers the threats, harassment, the resulting federal case, and the final sentencing. Through personal stories, the program lays out the timeline of events and their consequences. It will debut on Paramount+ on November 13, 2025.
‘Malice’ (2025)

I recently got a sneak peek at a new six-part thriller coming to Prime Video, and it’s definitely one to watch. Created by James Wood, the series centers around Adam Healey, played by Jack Whitehall, a charming tutor who worms his way into the lives of the wealthy Tanner family while they’re on vacation in Greece. Things quickly take a turn, though, and you start to realize Adam isn’t who he seems. David Duchovny and Carice van Houten round out the main cast as Jamie and Nat Tanner, and the direction by Mike Barker and Leonora Lonsdale keeps you on the edge of your seat. Filmed both in London and the beautiful Greek island of Paros, this one’s produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Expectation/Tailspin. Mark your calendars – all six episodes drop on November 14, 2025.
