Alfie Allen Joins Stephen King’s ‘The Institute’ Season 2 As MGM+ Starts Production

MGM+ has started filming the second season of The Institute, the thriller-horror series inspired by Stephen King’s book. Filming began on February 3rd in Halifax.

Exciting news! Alfie Allen, known for his roles in Game of Thrones and Rogue Heroes, is joining the cast for season two.

Stephen King Confirms Production Has Started

Stephen King announced on social media that filming for Season 2 of #TheInstitute has started and will be available soon on @mgmplus.

Who Alfie Allen Is Playing

Tim Allen will portray Nolan Reeves, a wealthy and unusual tech billionaire from Europe who helps fund the Institute. Reeves is said to have his own hidden plans and goals.

What Season 2 Is About

Season two picks up right after season one’s explosive ending.

Luke Ellis, Tim Jamieson, and the others who made it out are fighting to reveal the terrible things the Institute has done, all while trying to escape a dangerous group of pursuers.

Honestly, watching Ms. Sigsby try to get back on top is something else. It’s not just about power for her, though – she’s really driven by getting revenge. And as she digs deeper, she’s uncovering a lot about how the Institute really works – way more than anyone anticipated, including herself, I think!

Behind The Series

The series comes from MGM+ Studios, with Stephen King as executive producer.

Jack Bender will direct and also serve as an executive producer on the project. Benjamin Cavell is writing and executive producing.

Season two will be available only on MGM+ in the U.S., UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia. Amazon MGM Studios Distribution will be responsible for releasing the season in all other countries around the world.
