In a post, the actress conveyed her enthusiasm for the positive response to the series and hinted at more appearances from her character in the future. Her message read: “It’s thanks to all of you that this happened… but rest assured, Alex will be back before long.
At the launch of the revamped version of the popular Disney show, which originally aired from 2007 to 2012, Gomez expressed her delight at returning to her cherished character following a long hiatus. “It’s an incredible sensation to have the chance to resurrect this for you and for those who haven’t had the opportunity to see it before,” she shared with PEOPLE during the October premiere event.
She further added that bringing back the nostalgia felt refreshing. The Only Murders in the Building actress admitted that the show gave her everything she has today. “I’ll never forget that this is where I started,” she added.
The sequel series centers around the character of David Henrie, specifically Justin Russo – the oldest sibling in the Russo clan. As a former wizarding prodigy, Justin has chosen to immerse himself in everyday life, mirroring how his father (David DeLuise) raised them.
In the whirlwind of my enthusiasm, I can’t help but express my intrigue when Alex (Gomez) brings her brother into the picture – a budding wizard named Billy who requires Justin’s guidance. Yet, here lies the challenge: I must discreetly tutor this new protege while keeping the enchanting lore of the Russo family’s magical past hidden from my beloved wife and kids.
Based on the official summary, it appears that Henrie’s character discovers he needs to reactivate his magical abilities in order to guide a new wizard apprentice, all while managing his daily tasks and ensuring the safety of the Wizarding World.
