Alan Tudyk Reportedly Joins Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Cast — Here’s Our Top Theories on His Role

As a die-hard DC fan who’s been following the universe’s evolution since the days of Christopher Reeve, I can hardly contain my excitement for James Gunn’s Superman! With the filming wrapped and rumors swirling around like a DCU hurricane, the recent news about Alan Tudyk‘s casting has sent me into a frenzy.

In 2025, Gunn’s “Superman” is generating a lot of buzz as one of the most eagerly awaited films among fans. Although “Creature Commandos” will debut in December this year, both Gunn and Safran have highlighted that this Superman movie signifies the genuine start of the DC Universe.

The filming for the movie wrapped up around a month back, and even though it already has a notable ensemble, there’s talk that more actors will be joining shortly.

Based on reports from Deadline, it appears that actor Alan Tudyk has secured a clandestine role within an upcoming movie. Notably, Tudyk is currently part of the DC Universe, lending his voice to Dr. Phosphorus in the series Creature Commandos.

Although the details about his character haven’t been made public yet, there’s a strong buzz suggesting he might play Dr. Phosphorus.

Previously, it was mentioned that Gunn plans to keep the cinematic universe consistent by having voice actors play their live-action counterparts. For example, Frank Grillo is the voice of Rick Flag Sr., a role he will reprise in Peacemaker Season 2 and Superman, as suggested by set leaks.

Furthermore, it’s been hinted that certain characters from the “Creature Commandos” might make an appearance in “Superman”. Given this, it seems likely that Alan Tudyk may reprise his character in a live-action setting.

It’s also plausible that Tudyk might lend his voice to Krypto, the Super Dog, who is set to appear in the film. Additionally, there’s an old gossip hinting at a standalone Plastic Man movie in the DCU, sparking excitement among fans about Tudyk potentially playing this character.

In the television series Superman, David Corenswet portrays both Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane is played by Rachel Brosnahan. Additionally, Isabela Merced assumes the role of a winged superheroine called Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi takes on the part of the inventor and superhero Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion becomes the tough-talking Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Nicholas Hoult embodies Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor.
