As a dedicated manga enthusiast with a soft spot for quirky and heartwarming stories, I am thrilled about the upcoming anime adaptation of Kikaijikake no Marie! Having followed Aki Akimoto’s work closely since the days of LaLa magazine, it’s fantastic to see one of her creations getting animated.
Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine’s official account (previously known as Twitter) announced that Kikaijikake no Marie is set to receive an anime adaptation. This anime will be developed from the Japanese manga series, which was written and illustrated by Aki Akimoto. The mangaka also confirmed the anime adaptation through a tweet.
Initially, this captivating story was introduced as a standalone piece. However, it eventually found its home in Hakusensha’s esteemed shōjo manga magazine LaLa, gracing its pages from June 2020 to June 2023. Over the course of these exciting years, the chapters were compiled into a total of six tankōbon volumes. As an added delight for fans, the talented Aki Akimoto also unveiled a celebratory two-panel visual in anticipation of the anime adaptation.
Details concerning the launch timeline, producing company, and voice actors for the upcoming series “Kikaijikake no Marie” have yet to be disclosed. The team hinted that more information about this intriguing series will surface soon. In a recently released two-panel artwork by Akimoto, we find ourselves in the presence of Marie, the mechanical maid, and her master Arthur.
As an over-the-moon fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming anime adaptation! With no specifics revealed yet, we anticipate that it will stay true to the original manga. The series centers around a character named Marie, who takes on the role of a robot maid for Arthur. Now, this might sound a bit out there, but let me tell you, Arthur is no ordinary man – he’s the heir to a vast financial empire, and trust issues are his middle name!
He requests his butler to get him the perfect robot maid but technological limitations far exceed Arthur’s needs. The butler comes up with a plan and offers Marie Evans to act like a robot maid. Marie who is drowning in debt accepts the offer, and her lack of emotions seems to be the perfect fit for the role.
As Marie and Arthur grow more acquainted, she discovers an unexpected facet of him. Could this master of martial arts hide a businessman’s every requirement beneath a robotic veneer? Time alone can reveal the truth. By the way, Akimoto’s newest creation, I Want to Say It, features a spin-off from Kikaijikake no Marie. Keep an eye out for future developments regarding Kikaijikake no Marie!
