I’m thrilled to share that the filming for Ahsoka Season 2 has officially begun! Rosario Dawson herself gave us a sneak peek at my character, hinting at the start of this exciting production journey.

And we’re setting off…to distant galaxies… That’s what Dawson shared on social media, hinting at Ahsoka along with the show’s theme tune posted as an Instagram story.

Ahsoka Season 2 details: Hayden Christensen, Baylan Skol, Admiral Ackbar

At Star Wars Celebration Japan, we got some fresh information about Season 2 of Ahsoka. Here’s what we know: Hayden Christensen is coming back as Anakin Skywalker, and Rory McCann has stepped in to portray Baylan Skol following the passing of Ray Stevenson. Additionally, Admiral Ackbar will make an appearance, ready to face off against Thrawn.

In a recent chat, Christensen expressed that his comprehension of the character keeps expanding. He’s delighted by delving into various facets of Anakin, and he’s relishing every step of this exciting adventure.

Christensen went on to say, “He’s a multifaceted character, and there’s a lot happening. However, I’m genuinely enjoying portraying the more heroic aspects of the character in the Ahsoka series, and I can’t wait for Season 2.”

Admiral Ackbar vs Thrawn

Concerning Admiral Ackbar, Dave Filoni hints that he won’t fall into a trap this time around: “He’s squaring off against Thrawn. I really had to restrain myself from penning the line — ‘It’s a trap!’ Because I thought, I can’t do that, it would be so cliche. Since this character shouldn’t keep getting caught in traps. Surely, he’d spot it this time.

Rory McCann as Baylan Skol

In a cast change, Rory McCann, famed from ‘Game of Thrones’, takes over the role of Baylan Skrol following the passing of Ray Stevenson in 2023.

As the one taking up the mantle, I must admit that Season 2 presented an anticipated hurdle due to Ray’s departure. Our professional paths had crossed during voice acting collaborations, and his absence was initially daunting for me. However, I found solace in my supportive peers – Jon (Favreau) and Rosario (Dawson).

Filoni explained his choice to keep utilizing the character alongside Ray’s family: “I managed to find my way in; Ray was always on my mind. I’m thankful for all our discussions about Baylan. So, I knew what needed to be done, it just took some time to reach that point. Now, I am certain that Ray would approve of the path we’ve taken.

Filoni explained, “The character, Baylan, serves as Ahsoka’s counterpart in every aspect. Just as light has its shadow, Baylan symbolizes a unique path for a Jedi, mirroring your departure from the (Jedi) order, which he also experienced. This is a theme that should be further explored.
