As a seasoned gamer and avid MCU fan, I must say that ‘Agatha All Along’ has taken my love for the universe to new heights. The level of detail and symbolism in this series is reminiscent of an intricate RPG game, where every item, character, and setting holds a hidden lore waiting to be discovered.
As a gamer, I’m totally hooked on the new MCU series, ‘Agatha All Along,’ which is essentially a follow-up to the captivating ‘WandaVision.’ Three years post-‘WandaVision,’ it delves deeper into the enchanting realm of Scarlet Witch’s magic and the occult, offering a mesmerizing exploration I can hardly wait to dive into!
In this production, you’ll find a wealth of symbolism and allusions to actual magic from our world, where almost every stage prop and costume carries concealed significance.
As a gamer, I’ve been eagerly following the behind-the-scenes insights on our favorite show’s costumes. Recently, Daniel Selon, the costume designer, spilled some intriguing details about several key pieces, including Wiccan’s cape and its connection to Wanda and Vision. Now, he’s diving deeper into the wardrobe of our enigmatic, powerful character – none other than Lady Death, aka Rio Vidal.
As the authentic green witch, Rio fosters a profound bond with the earth and all living things, a connection that is evident in both her scenes and wardrobe. Outside of her usual dark, black outfit, she’s frequently spotted engaging with flora or donning her green attire.
Selon recently took to Instagram to share the story behind her flowers with his fans:

In a fitting for Rio’s costume, an overly intricate design resulted in one of the elements transforming into a prop. This unexpected turn led to the concept that Rio could create flowers at his discretion, each handcrafted flower symbolizing distinct challenges within the narrative, such as the ominous “Death Flower.
Here’s the story behind Rio’s flowers.
In the initial sketch of The Green Witch character design, a blossom emerges from where her jacket fastens on her chest. However, during a fitting with Aubrey, it was realized that the area around the neckline was overcrowded and continually keeping the jacket closed felt uncomfortable and suffocating.
Initially, we detached it, and Aubrey grasped it firmly as we proceeded to attach the remaining parts of the outfit. She started fiddling with it, spinning it, playing with it in her hands, nibbling on it, and even using it for gestures. In essence, it transformed (quite spontaneously) into a prop! That very moment in the fitting room sparked an idea: Rio would produce flowers whenever she desired.
Jac was thrilled with the concept, and therefore, the exceptionally skilled costume makers at ainstrains and bluebrookz meticulously created and painted magical blossoms that harmonized with the color scheme of each trial’s path.
As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but cherish “The Death Flower” above all else. It’s that rare moment when Lady Death presents an exquisite orchid and an unavoidable passage across the enigmatic River Styx that truly captures my fancy.
Behind-the-scenes details of the show are equally fascinating, featuring costumes that weave their own intriguing tales. All this is a testament to the exceptional creativity of the gifted designer, Selon!
