Afro-Fantasy Adventure: Children of Blood and Bone Cast Revealed!

Tomi Adeyemi’s Afro-fantasy world from her 2018 book “Children of Blood and Bone” is finally making its way to live-action, and fans are thrilled! The story revolves around Zélie Adebola, a diviner who seeks to reintroduce magic to her people after it was stripped away by the oppressive monarchy led by King Saran. Over the years, book enthusiasts have been speculating their ideal cast for this film, but the reality surpasses all expectations as some of Hollywood’s biggest names and rising stars have been chosen to bring this universe to life.

As reported by Variety, Thuso Mbedu has been chosen to play the role of Zélie. Notably, she was previously featured in “The Woman King,” a film directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and co-starring Viola Davis and Lashana Lynch. Intriguingly, both Gina Prince-Bythewood and Viola Davis will be involved in the upcoming production of “Children of Blood and Bone” – with Davis taking on the role of Mama Agba. The reunion of “The Woman King” also includes Lashana Lynch, who portrays Jumoke, while Ayedemi will act as an executive producer for the project.

Former “Doctor Who” actor Tosin Cole steps into the character of Zélie’s older brother, Tzain. This pair teams up with Amari (portrayed by Amandla Stenberg), King Saran’s daughter, and Inan (Damson Idris) to challenge him. The formidable King Saran is played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. Completing the impressive cast of “Children of Blood and Bone” are Cynthia Ervio as Admiral Kaea and Idris Elba in the role of Lekan.
