As a dedicated fan, I wanted to share some news about the TV series “Boiling Point,” starring Stephen Graham. Unfortunately, it’s been announced that this gripping show will be leaving Netflix U.S. in May 2025. This series, a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2021 film of the same name, joined our Netflix library back in April 2024. So, if you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, now is the perfect time!
Despite a fair amount of interest from Netflix, the series didn’t receive significant viewer attention. According to the Netflix Engagement Report for the first half of 2024, it was watched for approximately 400,000 hours, which equates to around 100,000 views. In the second part of the year, it didn’t even make the rankings, suggesting an even lower viewership level.
The show “Boiling Point” was helmed by director Philip Barantini, known for his work on “Adolescence,” the critically acclaimed Netflix series that made waves in 2025. Similar to “Adolescence”, this series is a gripping real-time drama filmed in a single, uninterrupted take.
The narrative unfolds within a bustling London eatery, six months post the initial movie’s events, focusing primarily on Carly, a once sous-chef who now manages her own establishment. Simultaneously, it delves into the lives and hardships experienced by her dedicated staff members.
In the show, we have Stephen Graham joined by Vinette Robinson, Hannah Walters, Izuka Hoyle, Áine Rose Daly, Daniel Larkai, and Gary Lamont as part of the main cast. Despite garnering positive reviews and a talented ensemble, Boiling Point faced difficulty in attracting viewers on Netflix.
Even though Boiling Point is no longer on Netflix, you can still watch it on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Tubi, and The Roku Channel in the U.S. However, the original Boiling Point film is not on Prime Video; instead, it’s on Peacock.
As an ardent admirer of Adolescence, you’re undoubtedly craving more intense dramas that tug at your heartstrings. If you haven’t already, give Boiling Point a watch before it vanishes from Netflix’s lineup. Trust me; it won’t disappoint!
Philip Barantini and Jack Thorne are set to carry on their creative partnership for another Netflix project. Specifically, Barantini will helm the upcoming Enola Holmes film, stepping in as director following Harry Bradbeer.
The filming of this project is scheduled to kick off in April 2025, and we’re aiming for a release date in the year 2026. Jack Thorne, who was involved in writing the last two Enola Holmes movies, will carry on as our screenwriter for this project.
