In simpler terms, comedian Adam Devine shared startling medical news following years of persistent discomfort. He discussed his worsening condition during an interview on the In Depth with Graham Bensinger podcast, tracing its origins back to a tragic incident from his youth.
When Devine was just eleven years old, he had a fateful encounter with a cement truck while purchasing candies with friends. Remarkably, he survived this incident, but the impact of the accident lingered physically within him. He began to endure spasms across his body and discomfort following extended periods of physical activity.
In simpler terms, the actor from Isn’t It Romantic shared that he had a startling discussion with his doctors who informed him that he was terminally ill. He put it, “They told me I was going to die.” The doctors also diagnosed him with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a condition that causes muscles to become rigid.
Over time, it might affect the muscular part of his body, specifically his heart, and potentially make it cease its rhythmic pulsation. Devine mentioned that as his state worsened, he sought advice from a professional who held a contrasting view regarding his wellbeing.
In simpler terms, the actor stated, “He said, ‘You don’t possess it. You do not have it,'” referring to something he didn’t have. The expert explained that he was dealing with muscle spasms and pain from an accident he had when he was young. However, the spasms as a result of the accident were somewhat perplexing.
The physician speculates that Devine’s body may have become so rigid that it is now responding abnormally, as if it’s perplexed or overloaded. Consequently, the actor hypothesizes that increasing his physical fitness during the pandemic could be causing the discomfort in his body.
He confessed that he had become so extremely tense and stressed that his physical condition began to deteriorate, eventually leading to a breakdown. “I believe I’m still working through it,” he mentioned, “but it’s been three years since it happened.
After undergoing stem cell therapy, the actor from Pitch Perfect has disclosed that he’s never felt better in a long time.
