While new movies are always being announced, several classic titles continue to be popular with viewers.
‘Novocaine’ (2025)

I just finished watching this really fun action comedy directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, and I have to say, it was a wild ride! It stars Jack Quaid as Nathan Caine, a bank worker who can’t actually feel pain – a pretty strange condition, right? The story kicks off when his coworker, played by Amber Midthunder, gets taken hostage during a robbery, and Nathan has to use his… lack of feeling, to try and rescue her. It’s packed with action, but also really funny. Plus, the movie has a great supporting cast, including Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, and Jacob Batalon. I definitely recommend checking it out!
‘Jack Reacher’ (2012)

This thrilling action movie follows a former military police officer as he investigates a deadly sniper attack that left five people dead. Tom Cruise stars as the lead, uncovering a complex conspiracy tied to an enigmatic figure called the Zec. Based on Lee Child’s novel ‘One Shot,’ the film combines gripping detective work with brutal fight scenes. It was directed by Christopher McQuarrie and also features Rosamund Pike and Werner Herzog.
‘Wander’ (2020)

Arthur Bretnik, a troubled private investigator, starts to believe a death in a small town is part of something much bigger. While investigating the case in Wander, he begins to think the secrets surrounding it are connected to his daughter’s death. Aaron Eckhart stars as Bretnik, alongside Tommy Lee Jones and Heather Graham. The film is a dark and suspenseful thriller that deals with themes of distrust, hidden truths, and government overreach.
‘The Contractor’ (2022)

James Harper, a former Special Forces soldier unexpectedly discharged from the Army, takes a job with a private military company to support his family. Sent to Berlin for a secret mission, he’s left stranded and on the run when things go wrong. Starring Chris Pine as Harper, the film follows his desperate fight to return home while discovering the real reasons behind his company’s actions. It powerfully portrays the mental and physical struggles faced by veterans in today’s conflicts.
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (2022)

Over three decades after the first movie, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is still a daring test pilot. He’s assigned to train a new group of TOPGUN graduates for a highly dangerous mission unlike any ever flown. The film centers around Maverick’s complicated relationship with Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of his late friend, Goose. The sequel has been praised for its realistic flight scenes and powerful emotional impact.
‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ (2025)

As a huge fan of the Mission: Impossible films, I was really excited for this latest installment. It picks up right after ‘Dead Reckoning,’ and the team is still chasing this incredibly dangerous AI called the Entity. Of course, Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt, and he’s doing all the insane stunts we’ve come to expect, this time filmed all over the world. Director Christopher McQuarrie seems to be wrapping up a lot of storylines here, bringing together everything that’s made this series so thrilling for so many years. It feels like a big, important chapter for the whole franchise.
‘Regretting You’ (2025)

I just finished watching this really moving film, and it completely pulled at my heartstrings. It’s based on a popular book by Colleen Hoover and features amazing performances by Allison Williams and Mckenna Grace. The story centers on a mother, Morgan, and her daughter, Clara, and how they’re both dealing with a terrible tragedy. As they try to heal, long-buried secrets start to come out, and it feels like their relationship might not survive. It really explores the ups and downs of being a mother and daughter, along with themes of first love and betrayal – it’s a powerful and emotional watch.
‘Old Guy’ (2024)

Christoph Waltz plays Terry Eubanks, a veteran hitman feeling past his prime. His life gets complicated when he’s tasked with mentoring a young, impulsive apprentice. Together, they must complete a dangerous assignment while dealing with a shifting world of professional killers. Directed by Simon West, the movie combines thrilling action with moments where Eubanks considers his life and career.
‘Roofman’ (2025)

This movie, inspired by real events, tells the story of Jeffrey Manchester, an ex-Army reservist who became known for robbing restaurants. Channing Tatum plays Manchester, who earned the nickname ‘the Roof Robber’ because he broke into fast-food places by climbing onto the roofs. After escaping from prison, he remarkably lived inside a toy store for months while also having a relationship with a woman in town. Directed by Derek Cianfrance, the film delves into the strange and hidden life of this unique American fugitive.
‘The Running Man’ (2025)

Edgar Wright’s new film is based on a novel by Stephen King (writing as Richard Bachman). It stars Glen Powell as Ben Richards, a man who is forced to compete in a dangerous, government-run game show to protect his family. Set in a bleak future, the show involves contestants trying to escape professional killers, all while being watched by a worldwide audience for entertainment. The filmmakers have focused on the book’s original ideas about unfairness in society and how the media controls us.
