As a gamer with a deep appreciation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia reading about Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s time as Quicksilver. While his tenure was brief, it’s fascinating to see how he handled sharing the role with Evan Peters across different franchises.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to make his mark on movie screens as the formidable Kraven the Hunter, one of Spider-Man’s most iconic adversaries. Prior to his association with SSU, he gained recognition for portraying Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
His tenure as Quicksilver was short-lived, making appearances exclusively during the mid-credits segments of both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he frequently alternated the role with Evan Peters, who portrayed the character in the X-Men film series.
During an interview with IMDb, Taylor-Johnson discussed his and Peters’ portrayal of Quicksilver in separate film series, emphasizing that they maintain a friendly relationship despite the differences in their respective franchises.
He talked about an encounter with Evan Peters at Comic-Con, where they were all associated with the X-Men. There was a mutual sense of appreciation as they chatted about their good fortune, being engaged in activities they are passionate about, despite belonging to distinct cinematic universes.
I recall encountering him at Comic-Con, where there was an assembly of X-men actors. Coincidentally, we shared a moment of disbelief, like a surreal “can’t believe our luck” feeling, as if to say, “Wow, aren’t we fortunate to be here, continuing to pursue our passions? It’s ironic that despite being in different worlds, we share this common interest.
To put it straight from the heart, his portrayal left me utterly awestruck. Some elements of his performance were simply exceptional and perfectly suited his character. It’s quite intriguing, don’t you think, to witness such a captivating act?
It’s fascinating when a comic book character like yours has such a bond with Magneto, along with the events in House of M, it adds a unique layer to their relationships. Those various links make it intriguing, don’t you think?
Johnson then praised the action figures of him and Olsen, saying the likeness is amazing.
To put it simply, it’s quite astonishing when someone creates a figurine or doll of the character you play. It’s almost hard to believe. The experience can be incredibly overpowering.
As a gamer, I’ve experienced the rollercoaster ride – the thrilling victories and crushing defeats. The triumph is so exhilarating, it leaves me questioning where to go next. Sometimes, I find myself in a state of perpetual awe, never taking my success for granted. It’s an unpredictable journey, wild and intense, a game within the game.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson lauded Elizabeth Olsen, describing her as an exceptional actor, a shining star, and simply amazing individual. He expressed his gratitude for working alongside her, having portrayed husband and wife in ‘Godzilla’ and siblings in ‘Avengers’. Jokingly, he wondered aloud why she didn’t utilize her powers to resurrect him on screen!
Lizzie Olsen is an exceptional actor, truly stellar, and a delightful individual, a wonderful soul. She’s incredibly kind. Indeed, I consider myself quite lucky. We portrayed husband and wife in Godzilla, and siblings in Avengers. It’s a mystery to me why she didn’t bring me back to life in the latter though.
We’ll always remember Johnson’s great performance. Who knows, maybe he’ll return to the MCU in Secret Wars or even appear as Kraven? That would definitely be exciting.
