Aaron Pierre Joins Man of Tomorrow, Reprising John Stewart From Lanterns

Aaron Pierre is heading from Lanterns to the big screen.

Pierre will be continuing his role as John Stewart, the Green Lantern, from the upcoming HBO series Lanterns by also appearing in James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow movie.

Man of Tomorrow cast, story details

David Corenswet is returning as Superman, with Nicholas Hoult also back as Lex Luthor.

The upcoming story will feature an unlikely alliance between Superman and Lex Luthor as they face off against Brainiac, a dangerous alien with incredible technology. Actor Lars Eidinger will portray Brainiac, who is one of Superman’s most iconic enemies.

Rachel Brosnahan will reprise her role as Lois Lane, alongside Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen and Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, all returning for this project.

I’m really excited to hear that Isabela Merced is coming back as Hawkgirl for the next movie, and María Gabriela de Faría will be reprising her role as The Engineer too! It’s great to see familiar faces returning.

With the addition of Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, it’s obvious James Gunn is going much further than a typical Superman sequel. Gunn has also stated that the film, Man of Tomorrow, will focus on Lex Luthor just as much as it does on Superman.

Production set for Atlanta

Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to begin production in April in Atlanta and continue into the summer.

This matches James Gunn’s recent hints on social media about starting preparations for the movie, like his visit to a potential Daily Planet location and his previous statement that he was heading to Atlanta to begin work.

Man of Tomorrow gets released on July 9, 2027.

Lanterns gets released in August.
