A24’s ‘Y2K’ Trailer Unveils Wild New Year’s Eve Horror Adventure with Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, and Julian Dennison

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated countless virtual worlds and survived countless digital apocalypses, I can confidently say that I am beyond excited for the cinematic adventure of Y2K! With its unique blend of humor, chaos, and a dash of nostalgia, this film promises to be an exhilarating ride.

Kyle Mooney’s initial directorial effort, titled Y2K, has been unveiled with its first trailer by A24. In this upcoming New Year’s Eve comedy, Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, and Julian Dennison star. The film presents an unusual take on the famous Y2K tech panic, infusing it with a touch of disorder and humor.

The movie, spearheaded by Jonah Hill, assembles an extraordinary crew consisting of Matt Dines, Allison Goodwin, Christopher Storer, Cooper Wehde, and Evan Winter. The production is supported by A24, Strong Baby Productions, and American Light & Fixture.

On the last day of 1999, two teenage students, Eli (portrayed by Martell) and Danny (portrayed by Dennison), unwittingly found themselves engulfed in an unforeseen, turbulent evening following a crash at a New Year’s Eve celebration.

As the timer starts ticking, these two youngsters soon grasp that they’ve wandered into a hazardous situation beyond their expectations, transforming what should have been an enjoyable night into a thrilling battle for existence.

In the ensemble of “Y2K”, you’ll find a diverse group: Martell and Dennison team up with Zegler as Laura, accompanied by Daniel Zolghadri, Lachlan Watson, Eduardo Franco, and the surprising addition of Fred Durst portraying himself.

As I dive into the game, I find myself embodying Garrett, with my buddies Mason Gooding, The Kid Laroi, Miles Robbins, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Heidecker, Lauren Balone, and Kevin Mangold playing their respective roles to make this adventure even more thrilling.

At the grand unveiling of Y2K during SXSW, I couldn’t help but share my thrill about being a part of this intriguing project. What initially caught my eye was the script’s unpredictable turns and its innovative spin on a timeless tale of growing up.

As a gamer, let me tell you, it was a blast diving into this story because I enjoy when unexpected twists pop up – just like an exciting level in a game! Zegler elaborated further, noting that the film not only keeps audiences guessing but also throws some curveballs to those behind-the-scenes as well.

The chaotic, nostalgia-filled Y2K will be hitting theaters on December 6, 2024.
