A new Alola-themed Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion is coming next week

As a hardcore gamer, it’s been truly mind-blowing to witness the colossal mobile success of Pokémon TCG Pocket. The dev team shows no signs of slowing, and they’ve got something big up their sleeves: the Celestial Guardians set is dropping on April 30, 2025! Can’t wait to get my hands on those new cards!

The Celestial Guardians expansion is significantly larger than the previous two releases. It offers two distinct booster packs containing exclusive cards to collect, one themed around Solgaleo and another centered on Lunala. These Pokémon are renowned as the primary legendary characters in the Sun and Moon video games, and they appear on the game’s packaging.

The central theme of this collection revolves around the Alola region as depicted in Sun and Moon. Besides the two legendary Pokémon we’ve previously discussed, the starting trio from Alola – Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio – will also be featured. Furthermore, there will be exclusive forms of common Pokémon like Raichu and Meowth that are unique to Alola.

In this collection, you’ll encounter the initial Immersive Trainer card ever to appear in the game. Accompanying it is a stunning Lillie card designed to heal 60 damage from one of your Stage 2 Pokémon, making it ideal for securing a crucial late-game advantage. Additionally, you’ll find other Trainer cards inspired by the Trial Leaders from the Sun and Moon regions, who took over the role previously held by traditional Gym Leaders in that area.

To mark the six-month milestone of Pokémon TCG Pocket, The Pokémon Company is preparing a special event for players. This event will offer Rayquaza ex Promo cards as well as exclusive cosmetic items within the game.

It remains unclear if the updates to the Trading system, as previously suggested, will feature in the upcoming set release.
