For years, HBO has been known for its strong Sunday night programming, consistently airing critically acclaimed and popular shows at 9 and 10 PM. However, nothing draws more viewers than the NFL, and HBO isn’t trying to compete with that. Instead of going head-to-head with the Super Bowl, HBO is making both A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and Industry available early on HBO Max.
HBO is releasing new episodes of two shows earlier than usual this week to avoid competing with the Super Bowl. Normally, new episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and Industry come out on Sunday nights, but this Sunday, February 8th, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks play the championship game. The game starts at 6:30 PM Eastern time and, with the halftime show, is expected to run until at least 10:00 or 10:30 PM – which would clash with the usual release times for both HBO series.
To avoid losing viewers to the big game, both Industry and AKOT7K will premiere new episodes globally on HBO Max on Friday, February 6th, starting at 12:01am PT/3:01am ET. They will also continue to air on HBO in their regular Sunday night timeslots – Industry at 9pm and AKOT7K at 10pm.

Despite launching early and competing with the Super Bowl, we still anticipate strong viewership for both shows. HBO has a well-deserved reputation for dominating Sunday night television.
Just so long as TV’s true behemoth isn’t also on.
