HBO’s new Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, will reveal why fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire books love the characters Dunk and Egg. And now, these popular characters are also coming to the mobile game Game of Thrones: Legends, thanks to an announcement from Zynga.
Variety was the first to announce that Ser Duncan the Tall, the famous knight from Westeros, and his squire, Egg, will be featured in the RPG puzzle game. Zynga then confirmed this news in their own announcement.
To mark the premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, new Champions and an event are coming to Game of Thrones: Legends this spring! You can summon Ser Duncan the Tall right now, and his faithful squire, Egg, will join the game in early February. Together, these two Champions are built to be a strong, supportive pair, defending teammates and boosting their abilities to create a powerful team!
The game’s website details everything about Duncan, including his character class, abilities, preferred champions, team combinations, and who he works best with. A new character, Egg, will join the game on February 11th, providing extra healing and defensive support to Duncan.
Soon, a new champion will arrive in the game alongside a special event based on the first season’s setting in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. From February 9th at 1 PM Eastern Time to February 15th at the same time, players can participate in the Tourney at Ashford Meadow, a mini-game where they can compete in jousting matches against other knights. This event is brought to you by Zynga.
In this competition, you’ll face off against other knights. Before each joust, you’ll pick one strength to focus on – Speed, Power, or Aim – and go against your opponent’s chosen strength. If you win, you’ll move on to the next round with a chance to win even bigger prizes. But if you lose, you’ll forfeit everything you’ve earned so far. It’s a risky game – after each round, you can choose to keep playing for more rewards or cash out your winnings.
Will a game starring Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg appeal to fans of both the original stories and the HBO series? Considering how well-received every story with these characters has been, it likely will.
