Ever wish you could explore the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with friends? Now you might be able to! Modders are working on a multiplayer mod for the RPG, letting you team up with others to navigate the challenges of medieval Europe – and maybe even improve your combat skills beyond just wildly swinging your sword. An early version is already available for testing.
A modder named Michal, known as Ddesoo on Reddit, recently began sharing their work on a mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, as reported by GamesRadar. They’ve quickly made significant progress and have also brought on other experienced modders to help with the project.
What started as a simple prototype has become a foundation for a multiplayer experience. Now, two players can connect to a server and see each other represented as in-game characters that move in sync. These characters are becoming more realistic with each update – they can now wear armor, wield weapons, and even cast shadows.

So, the team – Michal and the others – have actually put this first, experimental version out there on Github! They’ve also created a Discord server if you want to check it out and chat with them. Just a heads-up, you will need to own Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to get this working, and you’ll need to download the official modding tools from Steam first.
The modders behind this project have big plans for the future, including player-versus-player combat and roleplaying servers similar to those in Grand Theft Auto. However, it’s still very early days – it’s currently just a basic demonstration. As some online commentators have pointed out, the real difficulty for projects like this isn’t just getting started, but making sure everything runs smoothly and consistently over long periods of gameplay, allowing players to enjoy uninterrupted sessions.
Currently, Michal and their team seem to be making good progress on their Henry cloning project. Perhaps in a few years, I’ll be able to join Edwin and demonstrate my terrible self-defense skills after predictably annoying the nobility and common folk of some peaceful village.
