As a dedicated follower of Richard Armitage‘s work, I must say that his latest venture into the world of Harlan Coben adaptations, Missing You, has me absolutely thrilled! Known for his exceptional roles in The Hobbit trilogy and Captain America: The First Avenger, it is no surprise to see him taking on yet another captivating role.
As a die-hard admirer of Richard Armitage, I’ve been eagerly awaiting news about the release date for Netflix’s upcoming Harlan Coben adaptation, Missing You. Recently, there have been tantalizing hints from the man himself regarding when this captivating series might grace our screens. Can’t wait to see what he’s got up his sleeve!
Known for acting in movies like The Hobbit trilogy, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Oceans 8, Armitage is widely recognized for his collaboration with author Harlan Coben. He has starred in three Netflix adaptations of Coben’s novels: The Stranger, Stay Close, and Fool Me Once.
In the show “Missing You,” Armitage will team up with Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer, Ashley Walters, and James Nesbitt. Armitage recently talked to RadioTimes.com about his anticipation for “Missing You” and provided some insights on the series’ progress and potential release date on Netflix.
Armitage stated, “Everything is concluded. It was incredible! When I was invited to return for the third time to perform Fool Me Once, I was taken aback and asked, ‘Is this really happening?’ He further mentioned that they requested his presence a fourth time, to which he responded that they were a bit nuts, but he was thrilled at the prospect of joining again.
1) He considers himself their “fortune-bringing pants,” implying that he feels indispensable for their projects.
He understands why this is the case, pointing out that Harlan Coben is a master of cliffhangers. Coben’s books are engaging page-turners that adapt brilliantly into television dramas.
Armitage shared with Radio Times that Netflix seems to have recognized how perfectly adaptable his past work is, and they could potentially continue for another decade or so. However, he didn’t confirm if he’d be involved in every production. He added a hint about possibly working on another Harlan Coben series, referring to a “poker” which seems to indicate more than three projects, as a poker is traditionally four cards in a game of poker.
The actor from the North and South production suggested an estimated release timeframe for the movie, stating, “Indeed, it’s a fantastic tale, condensed in structure, featuring Lenny Henry and my fellow star from Uncle Vanya, Rosalind Eleazar. Therefore, I eagerly anticipate its premiere; I believe it will be around January of next year.”
The 2014 New York Times bestselling novel, titled “Missing You,” revolves around the character of Kat Donovan, a detective in New York City. Years following the shattering of her heart by her former fiancé, she encounters him on a dating site. This rediscovery sets off a chain of events that leads Kat into uncovering a far-reaching conspiracy.
