Patrick Dempsey expresses gratitude and enthusiasm for his role in an upcoming thriller show. Notably, the star known for Made of Honor has shared insights about his experience working on Dexter: Original Sin.
During this period, Dempsey decided to confide in PEOPLE magazine, disclosing certain details about his collaboration with Pfizer and the American Cancer Society. Together, they have been actively working on their joint project called Change the Odds initiative.
As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as I prepare to star alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Christian Slater in our upcoming series! The filming process has been nothing short of fantastic so far – it’s truly a dream come true for me!
In addition to discussing the Dexter prequel series, Patrick Dempsey mentioned that the narrative is collaborative, with each character contributing equally and also allowing for moments of personal life outside of their professional duties, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Additionally, Dempsey shared his thoughts on the ongoing 2023 actors and writers strike, expressing gratitude for his employment, similar to other actors, while acknowledging that the film industry hasn’t fully recovered to its previous state yet.
The Sweet Home Alabama star expressed his heartfelt gratitude for having a job and truly enjoys it, he shared.
Dempsey continued by expressing that, with the recent blows, he now views the film industry from a fresh angle, having worked in it for more than three decades.
Following the impressive run of eight seasons and a 2021 miniseries, Dexter: Original Sin, the original Dexter series featured Michael C. Hall in the lead role as the title character, alongside Jennifer Carpenter. The show aired from 2006 to 2013.
The upcoming series “Original Sin” will feature Patrick Gibson portraying the youthful version of Dexter Morgan. Set in the year 1991, this prequel delves into the life of our protagonist, following his transformation from a student to a vengeful serial killer.
In this series, Dempsey portrays Miami Metro Homicide Captain Aaron Spencer, while Sarah Michelle Gellar takes on the character of Tanya Martin, who is the CSI chief at the Miami Metro Police Department and becomes Dexter’s new supervisor during his forensics internship.
Meanwhile, Christian Slater will portray the character of Dexter’s father, Henry.
Dexter: Original Sin will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime on December 13.
