2025’s Water Festival in Pokémon GO takes place from July 15th to the 20th. Don’t let fear of getting wet hold you back!
The Water Festival in Pokémon GO is happening between July 15-20, 2025. So, no need to worry about staying dry!
At the Water Festival 2025, there will be extended periods for Rainy Lure Modules, enhanced rewards for successful Nice Throws, higher chances to find Shiny forms of Staryu and Tirtouga, along with special costumed Lapras. These characters come with a seasonal backdrop, however they are quite scarce and can only be obtained from Raids. Additionally, this event introduces the unique forms of Tatsugiri, Curly, Doopy, and Stretchy, which are new regional Pokémon that can only be found in certain regions worldwide.

Pokémon GO Water Festival 2025: Collection Challenges
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that Collection Challenges, similar to Field Research Tasks, are open for all players! However, they work like Timed Research Tasks, meaning they’re only accessible during the event which runs until July 20, 2025, at 8pm local time. That gives us plenty of time to complete the missions and claim our awesome rewards!
Fishin’ Mission
- Magikarp (Wild, Field Research)
- Gyarados (Timed Research, Raid)
- Barboach (Wild)
- Finneon (Wild)
- Rewards: XP x5,000, Stardust x2,500, Lapras (Scarf)
She Sells Seashells
- Staryu (Wild, Field Research, Timed Research)
- Krabby (Wild)
- Kingler (Timed Research, Raid)
- Clamperl (Wild, Timed Research)
- Rewards: XP x5,000, Stardust x2,500, Lapras (Scarf)
Just Keep Swimming
- Slowpoke (Wild, Field Research)
- Marill (Wild)
- Azumarill (Timed Research, Raid)
- Buizel (Wild, Field Research)
- Rewards: XP x5,000, Stardust x2,500, Lapras (Scarf)
Instead of the typical method where you usually fulfill Collection Challenges by evolving specific Pokémon, these missions require you to actually catch Gyarados, Kingler, and Azumarill directly. It’s important to note that simply evolving them is not sufficient. This arrangement has left many players disappointed, as these Pokémon are primarily obtained through Raids and Timed Research Tasks, which some perceive as a strategy to encourage players to spend money.
