The highly anticipated Harry Potter television series has commenced its filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the United Kingdom. This magical project is spearheaded by HBO, and it will be available for streaming on both HBO and HBO Max starting from 2027. The show will also debut in new markets like Germany, Italy, and the UK.
HBO unveiled the initial glimpse of actor Dominic McLaughlin portraying Harry Potter, and also disclosed four additional actors joining the cast.
New Cast Members
Four more actors have been added to the growing ensemble:
- Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom
- Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley
- Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch
- Anton Lesser as Ollivander
They’ve become part of the threesome that was earlier mentioned: Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter character), Arabella Stanton (character representing Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (portraying Ron Weasley).
Familiar Wizarding Families
Katherine Parkinson from “The IT Crowd” takes on the role of Molly Weasley. Lox Pratt’s agency represents Draco Malfoy (portrayed by Draco) and Lucius Malfoy (played by Johnny Flynn). At Privet Drive, Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby have been chosen for Petunia and Vernon Dursley respectively.
More Hogwarts Students
We now know the names of three more Hogwarts classmates – Leo Earley is Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni takes on the role of Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah portrays Lavender Brown.
These roles round out the Gryffindor crew alongside Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville.
Ministry of Magic
In the upcoming series, Bertie Carvel takes on the role of Cornelius Fudge, a prominent figure in the political landscape of the magical community as depicted in the latter novels.

Francesca Gardiner is penning the series and additionally holds the role of executive producer. Mark Mylod will take charge of directing multiple episodes while also serving as an executive producer. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts from Brontë Film and TV, along with David Heyman from Heyday Films, are all back as executive producers.
