Previously, during an interview with Deadline, Ashley referred to F1 as a movie starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. Interestingly, she mentioned that filming with him was enjoyable, particularly during the Grand Prix events.
Simone shared with the media outlet, “It’s been a while, and to clarify, this is Damson and Brad’s film project. I feel incredibly fortunate to be involved, and yes, we’ve toured together in connection with the Grand Prix. We were actually shooting on location at genuine races.
She said, “I’m just thankful I was a part of it. Honestly, it’s a Brad Pitt film, and that makes it quite amazing.
Director addresses backlash over Simone Ashley’s reduced screen time
In anticipation of the highly-anticipated release of F1, director Joseph Kosinski addressed rumors about Simone Ashley’s scenes being omitted from the movie. During an interview with People Magazine, he explained that it is common practice for films to shoot more footage than ultimately ends up in the final cut.
The filmmaker mentioned that a few additional plotlines didn’t end up being included in the final version of the movie.
