In a different choice of words, James Gunn responds to the dedicated followers of Zack Snyder, who are attempting to undermine his upcoming Superman film, which marks the beginning of the DC Universe, featuring David Corenswet in the titular role.
I’m a staunch supporter who finds it disheartening that those who skipped out on showing up for Henry Cavill in Black Adam, and continue to justify Pa Kent’s actions of letting children die in a bus accident and watching as Superman lost his father, are now working tirelessly to undermine Gunn’s vision for the DCU.
Gunn Shrugs Off Snyder Trolls, Says Superman Will Survive
multiple internet users, often referred to as trolls, are generating memes featuring Henry Cavill and David Corenswet portraying Superman, with these discussions also spilling over onto Reddit. What’s amusing is that it seems the followers of Snyder (referred to as Snyder Cultists) are unaware that directors James Gunn and Zack Snyder are friends. Rumor has it that Gunn sought advice from Snyder regarding Superman wearing briefs, and there are whispers that Snyder’s visual effects team is contributing to Gunn’s upcoming Superman project. Additionally, it appears that Gunn exchanges banter with the online community of mutant monkey trolls, while also taking subtle jabs at the Snyder Cut.
Gunn’s not phased.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Gunn expressed confidence that his version of Superman and the entire DC Universe will endure when it comes to responding on threads.
LOL, I believe we’ll make it through,” Gunn reassured a worried fan on Threads. ” frankly, I doubt the eight individuals who follow that person (I’m taking a risk here, but I suspect it’s a man) have enough influence to affect the outcome.

Gunn Says Backlash Helps, Reveals Superman Actor Watches Everything Online
In reference to his Rolling Stone interview, it was pointed out that certain individuals have been openly opposing him due to their allegiance to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and director Zack Snyder.
Gunn replied, ‘I’m fine with it, I think it’s great.’ He doesn’t want everyone to cheer for him, as he has an actor acquaintance who scans everything online. This actor won’t be named, but he’ll spot this article and recognize himself. He’s in the top five Superman portrayers, and he gets quite worked up over comments. Gunn told him, ‘Firstly, you should understand that the trailer received 97-98% positive feedback. The public’s support is beneficial because nobody wants everything to appear 100% positive.’
Sometimes, it’s perfectly fine to encounter a differing viewpoint occasionally, as Gunn explained. “Things can become quite extreme at times,” he added. “Regardless of how well-received something may be, there will always be something about it that stirs up strong disagreement. It was even a point of intense debate that the sun would cause Superman discomfort.
Gunn’s Superman flies into theaters July 11.
