James Gunn recently posted an exclusive backstage photograph from the set of Superman, granting enthusiasts their initial sneak peek into various characters who make up the movie’s superhero team, affectionately known as the Justice League.
In the image, you can see Gunn standing with Nathan Fillion portraying Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Isabela Merced depicting Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan in the role of Metamorpho, who is a DC comic antagonist.

Additionally, a brief sneak peek titled “A Day in the Office with Jimmy Olsen” has been unveiled. In this clip, Skyler Gisondo portrays Jimmy Olsen, while David Corenswet steps into the role of Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan takes on Lois Lane within the Daily Planet newsroom.
Intriguingly, even as a nerdy photographer, it was hard to miss the conspicuous framed picture on Jimmy’s desk, showing him in the company of several captivating females.

About the Film
The first official feature from DC Studios, titled Superman, is slated for global theater release this summer. Helmed by director and writer James Gunn, the movie offers a fresh take on the Superman character, blending action, humor, and profound emotion. David Corenswet portrays both Superman and Clark Kent, while Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult steps into the role of Lex Luthor.
The ensemble also features: Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
Working alongside him backstage are cinematographer Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, composers John Murphy and David Fleming, as well as editors William Hoy, Jason Ballantine, and Craig Alpert.
The movie titled Superman is being developed by Gunn and Safran for DC Studios. It’s expected to debut in various international locations starting July 9, 2025, with a U.S. cinema and IMAX release following on July 11.
