Long-standing Batman producer Charles Roven expresses eagerness to find out how James Gunn’s DC reboot unfolds, referring to the upcoming Superman film as a crucial test.
Speaking as an ardent fan, I must express that Roven, who collaborated with Christopher Nolan on his iconic Dark Knight trilogy and various DC productions, had nothing but high praise for Gunn. He acknowledged Gunn’s exceptional talent, remarking, “There’s a great deal of skill in the man we’re discussing…” Intriguingly, he hinted that the true measure of Gunn’s abilities will soon become evident, as he cryptically stated, “The verdict, so to speak, will be found within the pudding not too long from now.
Roven and Gunn have a long history together, dating back to their collaboration on the live-action Scooby-Doo movies. Although Roven is not actively part of Gunn’s new DC Universe project, he expressed his well wishes, hoping for success for Gunn and Warner Bros. as they endeavor to revitalize the brand. The upcoming challenge for Gunn will be the release of Superman, set to hit theaters next month, featuring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan in the lead roles.

Time will tell (with Superman releasing next month) whether my faith in his talent was well placed!
I hope he thrives, and may Warner Bros continue to prosper, as we’ve collaborated on numerous films together. It’s intriguing to contemplate the future once they decide to split up the company.

In his promotional efforts for “Superman”, Gunn hinted that the next installment of Superman might involve Batman, sparking fan speculation about a possible collaboration between these two iconic characters in what could become a World’s Finest team-up film.
Additionally, Gunn has verified that Robert Pattinson will continue playing Batman in Matt Reeves’ sequel, with the expectation that a new script for “The Batman 2” will be provided by Reeves shortly.
