James Gunn, head of DC, has clarified the speculations about the next Batman film. In a discussion centered around Superman, he hinted that The Batman Part II is a crucial part of the trilogy, and the whispers of its cancellation are merely unfounded rumors for enthusiasts.

Fans are certain that Robert Pattinson will reprise his famous role, thanks to Gunn’s comments, and Matt Reeves is set to assume directing duties.

Fans of the Batman series have a long wait ahead, with the sequel not set to release until five years following the debut of the first movie. However, in the year 2022, Robert Pattinson made his first appearance as the superhero in the film titled The Batman.

During interviews for his latest movie, Robert Pattinson revealed that he would begin shooting the follow-up to his 2022 film towards the end of 2025. “I’m aware of its plot,” he said, “but I can’t disclose any details. But trust me, it’s really interesting and thrilling!

James Gunn addresses delay in release of the Batman film

Regarding the hold-up in the upcoming Batman movie, Gunn pointed out on his social platform that such delays are often seen in sequels. For instance, there was a five-year gap between ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens,’ fourteen years between ‘The Incredibles,’ seven years between the first two ‘Terminators,’ thirteen years between ‘Avatars,’ thirty-six years between ‘Top Guns,’ and six years between ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2’ and ‘Vol 3.’

In another statement, the head of DC expressed that Matt Reeves is committed to delivering an exceptional movie. “Typically, it takes about two years from finalizing the script to production, filming, and post-production for major films,” Gunn continued.

As for Superman, the David Corenswet starrer will release in theaters on July 11.
