As a die-hard Star Trek fan, let me share some exciting news about Strange New Worlds. Unlike the first four seasons which usually have 10 episodes each, season five is going to be different – it’ll only consist of six! This means that when Strange New Worlds wraps up, it will have a total of 46 episodes under its belt. That’s just the equivalent of the first two seasons of The Next Generation. Can you believe it? Even the original Star Trek had 55 episodes by the end of its second year!
In today’s streaming era, most series don’t last much longer than three seasons, so five seems like a blessing. Interestingly, Discovery, which birthed Strange New Worlds, also ran for just five seasons, albeit with 65 episodes in total – significantly more than what Strange New Worlds will have when its final season concludes. It’s fascinating to see how these series are shaping up!
What could Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fifth season offer to devoted Trek fans? While we can’t say for certain, hints suggest a focus on the classic Enterprise crew, with characters like Mr. Scott being added and a stronger role for future Captain James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley).
