As a game enthusiast, I’m always excited about immersion and storytelling, but even I appreciate that not every gaming moment needs to be grave or dramatic. That’s the vibe I got from the two trailers Bethesda unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 for Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online. They seemed to suggest a lighter, more playful approach that’s just as engaging!
The game Fallout 76: Gone Fission launched this month, introducing a popular summer pastime that players are hooked on – fishing! This update, which is free across all platforms, incorporates fishing mechanics and related quests. Players can now pick from various bait and rod choices, consider the weather, and strategically choose where to cast their lines in the water.
In various forms, from ordinary aquatic creatures like fish to the elusive axolotl (these change every month), the waters of Appalachia hide numerous mysteries. The same can be said for Fisherman’s Rest, an intriguing new location within Mire, which is inhabited by a colossal hermit crab named Linda-Lee. She delights in accepting fish from players and, as a reward, offers them a legendary item.
Consistent with Fallout’s overall theme, the freshly released trailer for the update carries a feel reminiscent of 1950s newsreels blended with elements found in nature documentaries.
Just as zany is the fresh trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online, the MMORPG that’s still thriving more than a decade after its debut. Its latest expansion, Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, dropped on PC earlier this month and will roll out to consoles on June 18, 2025.
“No less goofy is the latest trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online, the MMO that’s still going strong over a decade since it was initially released. Its latest update, Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1, launched on PC earlier this month and is set to arrive on consoles on June 18, 2025.”)
We tag along with our adventurous protagonist and his lovable young lion companion as they journey through their exciting escapades and peaceful everyday moments. Rest assured, unlike the title suggests, you won’t encounter any worms during this adventure.
In the first installment of “Seasons of the Worm Cult”, we welcomed a fresh explorable area in Western Solstice, introduced a new character customization feature called subclassing, and advanced the primary narrative of the game.
