Why Was Miley Cyrus Not Allowed to Sing Her Hannah Montana Songs After Series Ended? Flowers Crooner Reveals Reason

Miley Cyrus disclosed that she couldn’t sing any of the Hannah Montana tunes following the conclusion of the Disney series.

In a conversation on the Every Single Album podcast, the artist expressed regret, stating she didn’t choose to do so, but felt unfortunate because her vocal tracks and images were present in the albums, but she wasn’t permitted to perform those songs herself.

Nowadays, things are different because since Miley Cyrus was named a Disney legend, she’s been granted permission to perform her songs from the famous 2000s show. She earned this distinction last year.

During her chat with the podcast host, Miley Cyrus clarified that after departing from Disney, she was barred from performing any of the Hannah Montana tunes.

Speaking candidly, I found myself in a position where it didn’t seem fitting to incorporate “The Best of Both Worlds” amidst the sequence of “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball”. It wasn’t my intention, but the flow just wouldn’t have worked out right.

After receiving Disney’s approval to sing her songs, she admitted that it felt quite exciting.

In 2006, I found myself stepping into the limelight as an actress-musician, a role that would eventually earn me recognition in countless homes. The part? None other than Miley Stewart, or should I say Hannah Montana, on the hit series “Hannah Montana”. My father, Billy Ray Cyrus, joined me on this journey, along with Jason Earles, Emily Osment, and Mitchel Musso. What a fantastic cast we were!
