Superman Skips Comic-Con as DC Focuses on Peacemaker Season 2

Once more, it’s been reported that Superman won’t attend this year’s major San Diego Comic-Con event. Instead, Peacemaker, along with James Gunn and John Cena, will make an appearance.

Last week, Gunn revealed to fans during a chat on Threads that it’s only him, John, and Peacemaker for now, but he assured them that he would discuss other topics as well.

Next up, THR reports that James Gunn is fully committed to Season 2 of Peacemaker with John Cena. This potential panel at Comic-Con’s Hall H could happen, but for the moment, Superman and the upcoming Supergirl film scheduled for June 2026 are taking a break from this event.

On the 11th of July, Gunn’s “Superman” soars into cinemas. The second season of “Peacemaker” kicks off on August 21st at 9 p.m., Eastern and Pacific Time, exclusively on HBO Max. Comic-Con takes place from the 24th to the 27th of July, and it’s been confirmed that Marvel Studios won’t be present this year.

No Big Screen Plans from DC at SDCC

According to THR, neither “Superwoman” nor “Woman of Tomorrow” are expected to hold panels at Hall H. The reason being that San Diego Comic-Con is taking place two weeks after Superman’s film release, so the company won’t be showcasing anything related to those characters at that time.

As for the forthcoming DC movie following the debut of Man of Steel, it’s been indicated that DC Studios might be holding back on disclosures until a later date, perhaps during New York Comic Con in 2026, as Supergirl isn’t set to premiere in theaters until June 26, 2026.

As a passionate movie-goer, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! “Peacemaker” is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming convention – a decision that clearly reflects DC and Max’s faith in the second season, premiering on August 21st. While DC remains tight-lipped about it, there’s buzz that Peacemaker might take the stage in Hall H for a panel discussion. Can’t wait to see what unfolds!

Superman going on a world tour

It seems that Superman won’t be attending Comic-Con this year, possibly because they’re holding out to see if the movie performs well. However, a global tour featuring the cast is scheduled in cities like Manila, Rio De Janeiro, London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, and Beijing.

DC Saving Supergirl for Later? Maybe NYCC?

If Supergirl were to attend the San Diego Comic-Con, much like Superman, it would mean that the upcoming DC movie wouldn’t be present at Comic-Con as well. However, since Gunn was there last year at the New York Comic-Con in October, it’s plausible that he might make an appearance this year too.

Clayface moving forward

Alongside DC, they’re developing a movie titled “Clayface.” Actors reportedly in contention for the roles are George MacKay, Tom Blyth, Jack O’Connell, and Leo Woodall. The film is set to premiere on September 11, 2026.
