A New Setting for an Old Monster

In a new take, Besson moves the Dracula storyline from Victorian England to the vibrant Parisian era of Belle Époque. The movie chronicles the life of the infamous vampire who develops an obsession with a woman reminiscent of his deceased wife, Elisabeta. This reflects the original narrative where Dracula encounters his reborn love centuries later.

Zoë Bleu takes on dual roles as Elisabeta and Mina. She is the child of Rosanna Arquette, most recently spotted in “Le Grand Bleu.

Besson on Casting Jones

As a movie enthusiast, I’d put it this way: In 2023, when I worked alongside Caleb Landry Jones on the set of “Dogman,” Besson had a unique role in mind for me—Dracula. He deemed me as extraordinarily gifted, even drawing comparisons to Gary Oldman. Moreover, he described me as easygoing, uncomplicated, and an absolute pleasure to collaborate with.
