WICKED: FOR GOOD Trailer Shows Oz Like You’ve Never Seen It Before

Previously, “Wicked” brought countless theatergoers to tears with its poignant narrative. Elphaba, initially thought to be good, uncovers the true nature of the Wizard of Oz, leading her to rebel against him due to his oppression of animals. Her actions turn her into a public adversary. Glinda remains behind, leaving a rift between her and Elphaba. The upcoming sequel, “Wicked: For Good,” promises to resolve this tale, offering a sneak peek at Dorothy and her companions in its trailer.

In the video, Elphaba and Glinda’s life trajectories diverge significantly. While Elphaba finds herself in exile, she continues her efforts to protect Oz’s creatures and uncover the truth about the Wizard – someone we were raised to believe was righteous.

Glinda now serves as a symbol of beauty and righteousness, with Elphaba serving as her guide throughout her journey that earns her renown across the land. However, her efforts to mediate peace between the Wizard and Elphaba fail. Now, these two women must devise a plan to prevent Oz from collapsing.

Wicked: For Good Will Show More Dorothy

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, director John M. Chu revealed that the upcoming film adaptation of “Wicked: For Good” will feature more Dorothy than the stage production. While there are glimpses of her in the trailer and an actress has been cast as Dorothy, the exact amount of screen time she’ll receive is yet to be determined. The main focus of the movie will still be on Elphaba and Glinda, with events from “The Wizard of Oz” influencing their storyline.

In my perspective as a film critic, I’d say, “That pivotal crossroads was where we stepped into the magical world of Oz for the first time. We approach this land with caution, delving deeper to unravel how it shapes our heroines and characters, offering insights that perhaps the original series didn’t fully explore.
