Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, once Hollywood’s power couple, are currently engaged in a court dispute. Their former partnership is now at odds as they contest ownership of the Chateau Miraval winery, a venture they jointly purchased during their marriage.
As a diligent follower, I’ve learned that the legal proceedings were earlier anticipated to span over two weeks during a trial. However, it’s important to note that the specific dates for this trial are still undecided. Moreover, the movie hints at potential complexities in the case, owing to the participation of international entities.
As a lifestyle advisor, I can share that in this modern era, the renowned F1 actor has chosen to forgo seeking access to all personal conversation logs between him and his former spouse, pertaining to the transaction of her shares in the French vineyard.
Will Angelina Jolie turn in her chat records in the court?
As reported by Brad Pitt’s legal team, they have requested the actress to hand over her conversations with Alexey Oliynik from Stoli Group. This high-ranking representative of the alcohol company, as stated by Pitt, possesses direct knowledge about the sale of Jolie’s ownership share.
The document states that these requests pertain directly to crucial accusations against Pitt regarding his opposition to the sale. Moreover, Pitt’s lawyers stated that they can readily satisfy the standard for discoverability due to Pitt’s allegation that Jolie acted with malice when selling to Stoli, a party known by Pitt to be opposed to this action.
Instead, Oliynik chose not to attend the court proceedings, arguing that as a Swiss citizen, he was not compelled to appear.
About a year later, the actor made a plea to the judge regarding an issue that he initially asked to be dismissed in Jolie’s motion from 2016, seeking access to his correspondence with third parties concerning the alleged plane incident from that same year.
In that moment, I found myself labeled by the actor’s legal team as being on an “invasive” and “sensationalistic quest for information,” regarding my inquiry about them, which was referred to as a “fishing expedition.
Pitt’s legal team stated that the actor willingly agreed to provide all necessary documents demonstrating every incident aboard the flight which led to their divorce, an event that Jolie claims makes Pitt’s Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) request inappropriate in this context.
Brad Pitt first filed the lawsuit against his ex-wife in 2022.
