Could we consider a fresh strategy for the “Blade” film, given it’s been stuck in development limbo for six long years? Perhaps a more diverse take on the character, like a white Black Panther, could be an exciting new direction.
Looking back to 2019, Marvel Studios created a stir with the news that Mahershala Ali would embody Blade in a fresh take on the legendary vampire-slayer series. Fast forward six years, and it seems we’re still waiting. Delays, script revisions, directors departing, whispers of storyline alterations – you name it. As things stand, there’s little movement, no trailers, no set production schedule. No updates. It feels like Blade is in a holding pattern.
In the meantime, Marvel Comics is creating quite a stir, much like a white Black Panther setting off explosions. If we’re going to have some fun and venture into the multiverse with memes, it’s worth pondering this intriguing query:
“Given that Marvel Comics is causing such a commotion, similar to a white Black Panther detonating things, here’s a thought-provoking question: If we’re going to use memes as our guide through the multiverse, what should we consider?
What if Marvel made Blade white?!
The White Blade Wish List
Suppose the Marvel Cinematic Universe collapses after “Avengers: Doomsday,” and Kevin Feige decides to go for a humorous reboot (it’s not hard to see that this has been happening since “Captain Marvel”). Who would be able to don the sunglasses, the sword, and the vampire-like coolness with a pale complexion?
- Ryan Gosling — He’s already got fans thinking he’s the new Black Panther. May as well give him a trench coat and a katana while we’re at it. Bonus: he’s already Disney-approved.
- Cillian Murphy — Ice-cold stare. Would totally rock a vampire-slaying monologue in a dimly lit crypt.
- Travis Fimmel — Vikings meets Blade. He’s got the look, the growl, and probably a garage full of swords.
- Austin Butler — Can he go from Elvis to slayer of the undead? Who cares, he’s got cheekbones. That’s half the job.
- Henry Cavill — It’s not a list unless Cavill’s on it. He’s Superman, the Witcher, Wolverine, and maybe Marvel’s answer to Blade if you just squint hard enough.
Why This Would Break the Internet
In one of the early blockbuster films featuring African-American superheroes, Blade was brilliantly portrayed by Wesley Snipes. He’s since reappeared in the movies titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“. Replacing him with a non-Black actor could potentially cause significant backlash, and Marvel Studios is well aware of this. However, it’s worth noting that they have made the decision to recast Black Panther in the comics.
As a passionate fan of the Marvel Universe, I’ve often found myself pondering the fun possibility suggested by fellow enthusiasts: Couldn’t we envision a reimagined Blade character who happens to be white? After all, with Marvel’s innovative approach to character diversity and adaptability, why limit ourselves to the traditional racial or ethnic backgrounds when exploring new storylines for beloved characters like Blade?
A Delayed Movie and a Trolling Multiverse
Given rumors of Ali’s dissatisfaction and the prolonged halt in the Blade project, Marvel may choose to abandon the somber approach entirely. Alternatively, they could put out a significantly streamlined version that barely resembles the original (much like what we’ve seen since Endgame).
As a passionate film enthusiast, I can’t help but ponder an intriguing thought: Could we be witnessing a playful jab at fans with the introduction of a white Black Panther in Marvel comics? If so, perhaps it’s only natural to speculate about the next step – a white Blade. After all, variety is the spice of life in the world of cinema!
Is it a satirical piece, part of the established canon, or an exceptional “What If” scenario? Frankly, it doesn’t matter. But if it catches on, it will be all anyone talks about for weeks! So, who comes next?
Final Thought
Currently, the main focus isn’t about whether Marvel will choose a white actor for The Blade character. Instead, we’re eagerly waiting to see when they’ll feature him on the comic cover, labeling it as “The Recast of Daywalker.
If they do it, our money’s on Gosling. Or someone even whiter. Like Chris Pine with a katana.
Important Note: The following content is intended as humor and serves as a reaction to Marvel Comics’ decision to change the race of Black Panther into a white villain. It aims to provoke laughter and discussion, not be taken literally. Let’s hope that Marvel sees it the same way!
