Marvel Replaces Black Panther with a Blond White Guy – Is Donald Trump the New Hero?

Coming soon to Kevin Feige’s MCU?!

Marvel Comics has indeed made a change, as they’ve taken over the role of Black Panther with a fair-haired, Caucasian character. This is not a jest; it’s a fact.

Over the last few years, a humorous meme has emerged around the idea of Black Panther being portrayed by a white actor, given Marvel’s trend of recasting original characters with diverse and inclusive (DEI) versions, such as Anthony Mackie as Captain America instead of the original. As a result, some fans have jokingly suggested that Ryan Gosling should play Black Panther, since Marvel has been swapping out beloved characters with more progressive versions.

In a surprising turn of events, Marvel, following popular sentiment, has introduced a white character as the new Black Panther in a recently released comic. This decision, initially intended as a joke, seems to have sparked controversy among fans who prefer the original character’s ethnicity.

What happened?

In the first issue of “Marvel Knights: The World To Come Vol. 1,” by Joe Quesada, who was once the Editor-in-Chief at Marvel Comics, and featuring art by Christopher Priest, the final page suggests that Ketema has removed his mask to claim leadership over Wakanda, proclaiming himself as its new ruler. The specifics of what transpired and how things are explained still need to unfold.

Bounding Into Comics got ahold of the issue pointing out:

Announcing boldly, “Now I rule, Wakanda belongs to me,” the recently crowned Black Panther removes his mask to unveil himself to his newly acquired subjects.

Who is Ketema, the new Black Panther?

The identity and background of Ketema remain unclear. It’s been mentioned that T’Challa divorced Storm and reunited with his former fiancee, Monica Lynn, who became pregnant. However, since Monica Lynn is Black and not White as one might expect given the assumption that she cheated on T’Challa, it raises questions about the father of her child. Again, I didn’t write this, just passing along the information!

Additionally, there’s uncertainty about where “Marvel Knights: The World To Come” fits within the broader Marvel timeline. It’s not clear whether it belongs to an alternate reality like the “What If” universe or if it’s set within the mainstream Marvel Universe (Marvel 616).

Despite the circumstances, it appears that Wakanda now has a new monarch, who happens to be a Caucasian male. Interestingly enough, he bears a resemblance to Baron Trump, don’t you think?

Previously, Marvel Comics has satirized figures similar to Donald Trump and employed his likeness in their stories. One instance was using him as MODOK (Mental/Mobile Organism Designed Only for Killing). Moreover, the creator of Thanos likened Trump to a powerful Titan and even depicted Trump’s death and decapitation in his comic books.

As a passionate movie reviewer, I find myself reflecting on the groundbreaking decision Marvel Studios made post-Chadwick Boseman’s passing – they chose not to recast the Black Panther role and instead passed the mantle to Shuri. This intriguing move left fans buzzing, and whispers of T’Challa’s son stepping into the Black Panther suit in “Black Panther 3” have only added fuel to the speculation fire. Could the Marvel Comics be subtly hinting at events yet to unfold in the MCU? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – the future of Wakanda and the Black Panther legacy remains a captivating mystery that we eagerly anticipate unraveling.
