Summary
- Progress is lost between runs in Elden Ring Nightreign, except for relics with unique effects.
- Remembrances offer powerful relics with character-specific effects that enhance gameplay.
- Use relics to target Nightlords’ weaknesses, enhance skills, share buffs, and modify Ultimate Arts.
In Elden Ring: Nightreign, you spend each night enhancing your abilities, eventually aiming to become the Nightlord during your current journey. Since it’s a roguelite game, your advancements are wiped between playthroughs, with only a testament of your triumph persisting. Just to clarify, we referred to this as a roguelite, not a roguelike.
During each run, you manage to keep a modest collection of items known as Relics, which tend to be random but occasionally include guaranteed ones. In some cases, even a single characteristic or two on a Relic can make it worth including in your Relic Rites. These are the ideal types to focus on when striving for mastery in the night.

Remembrance Relics
Relive The Past To Get Ahead

For each Nightlord, there are Unique Mementos, recollections of their past once they arrived at Roundtable Hold, dimmed by the Night’s influence. These mementos provide a deep understanding of their character, yet they also come with Potent Artifacts that grant special abilities to those who unlock them in the realm of darkness.
For instance, Wylder acquires a special follow-up attack with his Claw Shot, and Duchess earns a free Restage by finishing a dagger combo. These abilities can significantly change gameplay, so it’s wise to always carry one of them.
7.
Nightlord Relics
Best One Boss To Beat Another

In the main premise of the game, you aim to conquer the eight formidable Nightlords. Defeating one of them will significantly boost your strength. Moreover, each vanquished Nightlord presents a distinct Relic, tailored to their individual combat styles, which can be incorporated into your own strategies.
For instance, the Night Aspect grants a relic enhancing attack strength and introducing an unpredictable factor to your weapon. With Libra’s, you can inflict Madness upon yourself, subsequently recovering FP afterwards. They are potent artifacts, brimming with pre-configured abilities, enabling you to construct your character around them effectively.
6.
Character-Specific Relics
Take Their Unique Traits Even Further

Each character receives a distinct Relic from their Memories, yet these aren’t the sole sources of abilities tailored specifically for them. Even seemingly ordinary Relics might possess skills unique to each character, significantly improving gameplay when using them.
For the Relic known as Revenant, it grants the ability to decrease one’s own Health Points (HP) to restore those of allies. Conversely, the Recluse Relic provides a trigger for self-inflicted Blood Loss, boosting damage potential in return. Although these Relics may not always rely on other traits, they can result in some surprisingly potent game builds.
5.
Added Affinity Relics
Just The Effect You Need

Each Nightlord possesses a unique vulnerability, either a debilitating status or an elemental susceptibility. The common objective is to discover Landmarks on the map that align with these weaknesses and obtain them. However, simply finding such Landmarks doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll acquire the weapon suitable for your character.
Instead, consider employing Items that grant Affinities or Ailments. These can result in potent combinations as well. If you desire Blood Loss on a bow, it’s achievable. Need to infuse Poison or Frostbite onto a weapon that already has an Affinity or Ailment? Go ahead and do so. The possibilities are endless!
4.
Shared Item Effect Relics
Share The Buffs

As a dedicated fan of Nightreign, I can’t stress enough the importance of gathering items as you traverse through its challenging terrains. Items like Exalted Flesh and Boiled Prawns significantly boost your resilience against the formidable Nightlords. Now, imagine the added advantage if your comrades could also reap these beneficial effects? What a game-changer that would be!
You’re fortunate indeed! Many of these Relics let you do that, and it’s not limited to just them – any item you can use is included. That means your Boluses, Boiler Prawns, Exalted Flesh, and even Flasks will all be passed on to your teammates when needed. So step up as a support in tough situations when the team’s health is low.
Boluses also offer permanent resistance boosts for a run, not just temporarily.
3.
Ash of War Relics
For A Different Kind Of Combat

In Nightreign, the weapons you acquire are randomly chosen, so it’s unpredictable which Ash of War they’ll come with. Some special weapons like Legendary ones have fixed Ashes of War, but most others don’t, and you might not find a good purpose for them.
In that instance, your Relics serve as a helpful solution yet again. Certain ones allow you to swap the Ash of War on your primary weapon with another one found in the Relic. Most of these changes are random, but when combined with Added Affinities, they can create some fascinating and unconventional build options.
2.
Character Skill
Make Those Skills Even Stronger

Character abilities are fundamental to any Nightfarer; they’re what you’ll primarily focus on when designing your character and playing style. Therefore, it’s generally advantageous to invest more in enhancing these character abilities further.
Many artifacts provide these effects in various manners. Typically, they reduce the cooldown time, but there are some that extend the duration of the skill instead. How does this function? Primarily, it depends on the character. For instance, with a Guardian, this could cause their whirlwind to persist for a few additional seconds after being cast, or make Duchess’ Restage pull from a slightly longer distance.
1.
Ultimate Art Relics
What Happens When You Like The Ultimate Even Better?

Top-tier arts, as their name suggests, represent the most potent abilities at a Nightfarer’s disposal. They should be employed judiciously to maximize their potential impact. Now, imagine enhancing these already powerful skills further – how exciting would that be?
In practice, it’s challenging to enhance the impact of Unique Arts with random relics due to their distinct nature. However, speeding up the charge time is crucial. If you don’t have a specific build in mind, adding an Ultimate Art Gauge+ Relic is generally a reliable choice.
