As a devoted enthusiast, I can’t help but notice that the incorporation of an AI-driven Darth Vader, who quickly resorted to swearing upon his debut, was undeniably just the initial step in Epic Games’ ambitious vision for AI integration within Fortnite. This AI-enhanced character served as a trial run, a testing ground if you will, for this innovative feature.
Epic Games explained that they’re passing on the core tech they discovered from Darth Vader to the group of creators.
The Persona Device allows creators to develop characters with distinct personalities that players can converse with. You have the freedom to customize the voice tone and delivery of your non-player characters (NPCs), as well as their traits. Moreover, creators will be able to influence not only the behavior and dialogue of these NPCs but also the core mechanics of the game, resulting in fresh and interactive experiences within Fortnite.
