Over the course of the years, they reminisced about the various incarnations of John, ranging from his days as a Pawn to when Marlena thought he was Stefano. Regardless of the changes, she had consistently viewed him as the one who safeguarded her, even during her toughest times.

Upon their second visit, Steve attempted to express his apologies, but John dismissed any feelings of remorse. Additionally, Steve disclosed that Rafe had rejoined the FBI, thereby necessitating John’s return to Black Patch.
