4. His Dark Materials

Growing up in the rigid and confining atmosphere of Jordan College in Oxford, I, Lyra Belacqua, stumbled upon a secret: the enigmatic substance known as Dust. Alongside my daemon, an embodiment of my very soul externalized into an animal form, we uncovered this mysterious entity that was hidden from the world.
This mysterious entity, believed by the militant wing of an influential and extreme Church known as the Magisterium, may be a consequence of Original Sin. It has been noted that this Dust seems to repel the innocence found in children but is drawn towards the experiences of adults instead.
Researchers, under the patronage of the Church, embark on chilling experiments involving a mysterious substance called Dust. These experiments involve children who have been abducted from various parts of England and transported to the frigid regions of the Arctic North. Among those determined to uncover these child abductors is Lyra, as they had taken her cherished friend Roger as well.

Fate seems to have brought Geralt and Ciri together.
In his adventures, Geralt also meets Yennefer, a sorceress, and Jaskier, a bard.

With the help of Starfire and Beast Boy, Dick Grayson will eventually assemble a team of superheroes to safeguard Rachel Roth.
7. Doom Patrol

The Doom Patrol focuses on an unconventional group of superheroes, each acquiring their abilities due to unfortunate events and often shunned by mainstream society. Many members of this team were cared for by the Chief, a doctor who provided them with a home in his mansion to shield them from the world at large.
The name originates from an earlier Doom Patrol group assembled by the Chief. The initial members of this Doom Patrol team to appear in the series consist of Jane, who embodies the dominant persona of a traumatized woman with dissociative identity disorder; Rita Farr, grappling with her ability to transform into a gelatinous state; Larry Trainor, host to a negative energy entity; and Cliff Steele, whose mind resides in a robot body following a car crash.
Later in the story, Victor Stone, who has been cybernetically enhanced, becomes part of the team. In the first season’s narrative, the Chief is taken by the wicked Mr. Nobody, leading the Doom Patrol to embark on a mission to save him. During this journey, they uncover hidden truths about themselves and the Chief, eventually learning that he played a significant role in the unfortunate incidents that bestowed their powers upon them.
In the second series, Dorothy Spinner – the Chief’s daughter who can make her imaginary companions real – becomes a part of the Doom Patrol. 2019 found police officer Ulrich Nielsen frantically seeking his lost 12-year-old son Mikkel. Tragically, it was his younger brother Mads who had vanished under equally enigmatic circumstances three decades prior, in 1986. Jonas Kahnwald is deeply affected by this case and his father’s suicide too. He’s determined to dig deeper. As police and some locals uncover details, a tale emerges that repeats itself every thirty-three years. Incidents in 1953, 1986, and 2019 are intricately connected. The quest to discover who is responsible for these disappearances will progressively expose the town’s hidden secrets.
10. Stranger Things

The story unfolds over multiple months or years, taking place between 1983 and 1986. One fateful evening in November of 1983 in Hawkins, Indiana, 12-year-old Will Byers mysteriously vanishes, leaving only his bicycle behind. A variety of characters will then set out to find him: his mother Joyce, a group of friends led by Mike Wheeler, and influenced by the enigmatic Eleven – a young girl with psychic abilities. Additionally, Police Chief Jim Hopper becomes involved in the search.
Simultaneously, the city is where strange occurrences related to Hawkins National Laboratory take place. This lab is operated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) and, in a roundabout way, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The experiments carried out under Project MK-Ultra appear to have some connection to Will’s disappearance, although it’s not immediately clear.
11. Castle Rock

Unusual events have been a common occurrence in the small town of Castle Rock, Maine – recall the vicious dog Cujo, the prison break from Shawshank, or the chilling discovery of a boy’s body near the train tracks. The current narrative centers around Henry Deaver, who mysteriously vanished for 11 days during the harsh winter of 1991 only to resurface, unscathed but with no recollection of his whereabouts, in the heart of Castle Lake’s frozen expanse.
Consequently, it’s unclear why Pastor Deaver, his adoptive father, was discovered by search parties with a fractured spine and subsequently passed away. Simultaneously, Henry, a lawyer specializing in criminal defense from Texas, receives an enigmatic summons to return to his hometown from Shawshank Prison. In the basement of the asylum, an unnamed young man is discovered locked up in a sort of bear trap submerged in a septic tank. He only utters Henry’s name.
In Castle Rock, Henry encounters his ex-neighbor Molly Strand (played by Melanie Lynskey), his mother Ruth (Sissy Spacek) who’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and her current partner Alan Pangborn (Scott Glenn), the former sheriff of town who saved Henry in the past. They all appear to be connected to the enigma surrounding the enigmatic prisoner, whose existence some perceive as being the embodiment of evil.
12. Gotham

The show is a crime drama that delves into the backstories of James Gordon, who later becomes commissioner of Gotham City Police Department (GCPD), and the rogues’ gallery of criminals who will wreak havoc in Gotham City. We’re also joined by detectives Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen, as well as District Attorney Harvey Dent. The city is torn apart by an underworld conflict between two powerful crime families led by Carmine Falcone and Fish Mooney. Unwillingly drawn into the fray is the enigmatic gangster Oswald Cobblepot. As the season draws to a close, Cobblepot makes his move, eliminating Mooney and proclaiming himself the “King of Gotham.
During the second season, Theo Galavan arrives in Gotham with his sister Tabitha, under instructions from the Order of St. Dumas to eliminate Bruce. However, Jim Gordon, Cobblepot, Selina, and the GCPD successfully rescue Bruce from this threat. Meanwhile, at Arkham Asylum, a research facility known as Indian Hill is carrying out gruesome experiments, overseen by Professor Hugo Strange, which transform inmates into grotesque creatures.
13. Watchmen

The narrative opens by recalling the Tulsa Race Massacre, an incident that occurred between May 31 and June 1, 1921, where white mobs brutally assaulted the black community in Tulsa. Amidst this chaos, a young character manages to flee. Fast forward to the present day in the alternate reality depicted by Watchmen, where Tulsa has been marked by events three years prior. In these events, a radical white supremacist group known as “the 7th Cavalry,” claiming to be the successor of Rorschach, launched an attack on every police officer and their families in the city.
To preserve their identities following the “White Night” incident, state law enforcement officials have been given permission to cover their faces with yellow bandanas to ensure they remain unidentified. Haunted by this fateful night, Angela Abar, known as “Sister Night”, and Tulsa’s police chief, Judd Crawford, have chosen to collaborate on an investigation into a secretive clique and its adherents.
It seems that Angela Abar is revealed to be the granddaughter of Will Reeves, a boy who miraculously survived the Tulsa race massacre, and who, in his older years, plays a significant role in the series.

The Emperor initially managed to vanquish Aku with a sacred sword, but the beast was released once more during a total solar eclipse. Now, Jack’s father attempts to confront Aku again with his enchanted katana, but this time, the monster captures the emperor instead.
Jack is escorted to safety outside of the country by his mother, who subsequently relocates to Nepal and conceals the sacred sword within a Buddhist Shaolin monastery. During this period, Jack journeys across various nations, learning diverse martial arts from different countries. Years later, once he has grown into a young adult, Jack sets off to locate his mother and receives the holy sword from her hand.
Later, it’s disclosed that Ashi emerged from Aku’s magic and is thus his “daughter.” However, she rebels against Aku and Jack ultimately manages to vanquish the supernatural being. Utilizing her magical abilities, Ashi employs a time-altering spell identical to the one that sent Jack into the future. Consequently, they both reappear in the 19th century.
