In Elden Ring Nightreign, you’ll find eight distinctive characters known as Nightfarers. Each of these characters possesses a distinct set of skills, stat progressions, and special traits that result in eight different gameplay styles. While every Nightfarer in the game is competent enough to defeat every Nightlord, and there isn’t a single worst class in Nightreign, the optimal classes excel in damage output, utility, or other advantages, making them preferable choices over others.
In Elden Ring Nightreign, exceptional classes can seamlessly fit into any team setup due to their harmonious skills, beneficial party utilities, or extraordinary damage output that sets them apart from the competition. This Nightreign classes tier list ranks each character based on these factors and provides reasons for their specific placement within this list.
8. B- Tier: Guardian
A Great Tank That Lacks Power & Variety
- Favored Weapon: Halberd
- Guardian Passive: Steel Guard
- Guardian Skill: Whirlwind
- Guardian Ultimate: Wings of Salvation
The Guardian excels as an individual tank, drawing enemy focus to his protective shield and utilizing the Guard Counter when using Halberds. His Whirlwind ability is handy for managing crowds, while Wings of Salvation can resurrect teammates if you’re close by, providing them with a temporary defensive enhancement.
It seems that this combination of defensive skills is quite promising. However, the Guardian class in Nightreign isn’t highly regarded because it moves slowly, deals minimal damage, and other classes can match its tanking capabilities with appropriate setup. Furthermore, you won’t often find yourself in situations where a Guardian’s strengths are utilized.
In essence, every class in Nightreign has its merits, but with specific Relics and mastery, you can conquer any Nightlord. However, the Raider, Wylder, and Executor classes offer higher damage output and a wider range of versatile abilities that prove beneficial even outside of boss fights.
7. B Tier: Duchess
Requires Team Coordination To Play Well

- Favored Weapon: Daggers
- Duchess Passive: Magnificent Poise
- Duchess Skill: Restage
- Duchess Ultimate: Finale
In the game Nightreign, the Duchess is an exceptional class when skillfully played, but her full potential heavily relies on your team’s cooperation and effective communication. Her passive Magnificent Poise allows her to evade twice rapidly, making it easy for her to enter and exit combat swiftly. Moreover, her Ultimate Art, Finale, envelops the entire team in invisibility. This stealth enables team members to revive each other or heal without attracting unwanted attention from enemies.
The Duchess’ character trait can make her incredibly powerful, yet it’s also her significant flaw. When Restage is used, it repeats the damage inflicted in the past few seconds. If you can coordinate with your teammates and time it correctly after they deal a substantial amount of damage, you can swiftly deplete HP bars. However, if communication is lacking and timing isn’t precise, its effectiveness diminishes significantly.
6. B+ Tier: Revenant
Low HP, No FP Regeneration – But Summons & Ult Are Great

- Favored Weapon: None (Sacred Seals)
- Revenant Passive: Necromancy
- Revenant Skill: Summon Spirit
- Revenant Ultimate: Immortal March
Without a doubt, one of the distinctive characters in Nightreign, the Revenant, has an exceptional ability set. She can call upon three distinct spirits to assist her during battles, summon the spirit of fallen opponents momentarily, and with her Ultimate Ability, she can temporarily make both allies and summons invincible. Additionally, her Ultimate is one of the rare abilities that can resurrect allies using a three-bar downed meter.
The drawbacks of the Revenant character are twofold: first, her low health (HP) and mana points (FP) regeneration rate, and second, a limited set of actions if her summoned entities perish during crucial battles. Unlike the Recluse who can restore FP by collecting Affinity Residue, the Revenant lacks this ability and is solely dependent on Starlight Shards to replenish her FP bar during combat. Additionally, her spirits have hit points (HP) as well, and if they are killed, there’s a waiting period before they can be summoned again.
As a spell-casting enthusiast myself, I can confidently say that if you manage to obtain a potent Sacred Seal with powerful Incantations and gather an abundance of Starlight Shards for your spells, having Revenant on your team can significantly boost any composition. While your summons keep the enemies at bay, Revenant becomes an invaluable ally, providing a strategic advantage that’s hard to ignore.
5. A- Tier: Wylder
A Balanced & Agile Melee All-Rounder

- Favored Weapon: Greatswords
- Wylder Passive: Sixth Sense
- Wylder Skill: Claw Shot
- Wylder Ultimate: Onslaught Strike
In the game Nightreign, the Wylder class serves as the standard option, and while it’s not the most exceptional class in the game, it’s also not the weakest. The Wylder is a well-rounded class that can efficiently handle any type of weapon, but it truly shines when wielding Greatswords, which will grant an additional weapon skill set unique to the Wylder character.
His extraordinary Sixth Sense skill averts a lethal attack, while his Onslaught Strike Ultimate is rare in its capability to disrupt any boss (once fully charged). Claw Shot serves as an advantageous move for mobility, which can be enhanced to inflict Fire damage with an early relic. This move proves useful both for approaching enemies swiftly or navigating the expansive world more expeditiously.
Wylder boasts strong melee damage, an uncomplicated skill set, excellent mobility, and a valuable Ultimate ability that can even resurrect teammates, making him a top pick for beginners in Nightreign and well-rounded overall.
4. A Tier: Raider
Has Two Ways To Interrupt & Great Stance Breaking

- Favored Weapon: Colossal Weapons, Greataxes, Greathammers
- Raider Passive: Fighter’s Resolve
- Raider Skill: Retaliate
- Raider Ultimate: Totem Stela
In the game Nightreign, Raider stands out as a specialist rather than a jack-of-all-trades like Wylder. This towering figure specializes in using Colossal Weapons, making him one of the top classes for two key reasons: firstly, he possesses abilities that can quickly interrupt bosses, and secondly, he excels at breaking Stance, a crucial aspect of gameplay.
The Raider’s character abilities are closely linked – Fighter’s Resolve amplifies the damage of Retaliate when taking damage and shields against being knocked down while using it. When triggered, the Retaliate skill causes the Raider to butt his target with his head, but if he has sustained enough damage and appears grey-tinged, he will instead deliver an open-handed strike that knocks down most bosses except for the toughest ones. Additionally, the Totem Stela is beneficial, particularly when teamed up with a Recluse, Revenant, or Ironeye, as they can make use of its elevation.
3. A+ Tier: Recluse
An Extremely Powerful, But Extremely Complex, Sorceress

- Favored Weapon: None (Staves and Sacred Seals)
- Recluse Passive: Elemental Defense
- Recluse Skill: Magic Cocktail
- Recluse Ultimate: Soulblood Song
Among the standout characters in the game Nightreign, the Recluse stands out as one of the most intricate yet powerful ones. With a touch of witchcraft, this character is proficient in utilizing both Staffs and Sacred Seals, essentially serving as the primary spellcaster in the game. However, it’s her unique class skill, Magic Cocktail, that amplifies her complexity and damage potential significantly.
When enemies or allies are struck by spells like Magic, Fire, Holy, or Lightning, they release one of four elemental energies which can be absorbed. This absorption restores a small amount of Focus Points (FP) and awards you with one of three colored emblems, or sigils. Collecting all three sigils empowers you to cast a spell, the type of which depends on the specific combination of affinities found in the sigils you’ve gathered.
You’ll need to memorize all fourteen enchanting cocktail incantations thoroughly, as mastery of the Recluse spell depends on it.
Her Ultimate ability temporarily highlights enemies, enabling ally attacks to restore both health (HP) and Focus Points (FP). However, this class, like all spellcasters in Elden Ring, has a very small health reserve.
Avoid attracting your supervisor’s wrath, master all the residual spell combinations for optimal use of Magic Potpourri, and you’ll swiftly deplete enemy health bars with an unrelenting barrage of magic.
2. S Tier: Executor
Perfect Deflect Mechanics & Unparalleled Status Effects

- Favored Weapon: Katanas
- Executor Passive: Tenacity
- Executor Skill: Cursed Sword
- Executor Ultimate: Aspect of the Crucible: Beast
In the game Nightreign, the Executor stands out as a top-tier melee class, not just for its prowess in close combat, but also due to its exceptional abilities that make it one of the best classes overall. One of the key advantages of the Executor is its exclusive access to a perfect block mechanic. When armed with the Cursed Sword, the Executor can time a block just as an enemy attack lands, effectively nullifying any damage and restoring block Stamina. Additionally, this action inflicts Stance damage on the attacker and slightly cracks open the Cursed Sword.
In this game, the Executor class initially benefits from S scaling in Arcane abilities and high Dexterity, making it an optimal choice for causing status effects. If you manage to obtain two Katanas, each with distinct statuses, you can wield them simultaneously for maximum effect. One of the game’s most impressive skills is The Aspects of the Crucible: Beast Ultimate. When activated, you gain a new arsenal of moves, including broad swipes, powerful slams, a thunderous roar attack, and a special “weapon skill” that allows you to cut through enemies with a holy blade.
The Executor character can be challenging to control effectively, but with practice, you’ll become proficient in utilizing the Cursed Sword and synchronizing precise blocks at the right moment. Once you get accustomed to handling the Executor, you’ll find yourself capable of confronting any adversary within the game without sustaining damage.
1. S+ Tier: Ironeye
Low Damage, But It’s The Most Reliable Class In Nightreign

- Favored Weapon: Bows (not Crossbows/Greatbows)
- Ironeye Passive: Eagle Eye
- Ironeye Skill: Marking
- Ironeye Ultimate: Single Shot
In the game Nightreign, Ironeye stands out as an exceptional class not just for his damage potential, but primarily due to the extensive utility and harmonious teamwork he offers. Ironeye is a skilled ranged Bow user who can keep a safe distance from melee attacks, either shooting enemies or reviving allies from a distance.
His special talent, Eagle Eye, boosts the rarity of items for the whole team, making it beneficial for any team setup. Additionally, his skill Marking tags enemies, causing more harm to them. Once enough damage is inflicted, the mark will burst, dealing a substantial amount of damage, much like a Bleed effect.
Remarkably, when Ironeye employs his Marking skill, it comes with invincibility frames (i-frames) throughout most of its duration, which makes it an outstanding choice both offensively and defensively in his arsenal of abilities.
Ironeye’s special move, titled “Single Shot,” inflicts massive damage not only on its intended target but also on anything situated between Ironeye and his mark. The shot can penetrate any terrain, leaving a destructive path approximately five meters wide. This unique ability is capable of disrupting even the most formidable bosses in the game.
Ironeye is a valuable addition to any team he joins, provided that other team members can deal damage effectively and divert attention. He excels at reviving teammates from afar, increasing the rarity of passive items, using his protective Marking dash, and interrupting opponents with his ultimate ability. In the game Nightreign, he is considered the most dependable class and top character, despite not being as damaging as some other classes in the game.
