Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: 10 Best Main Quests

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players will be immersed in a complex medieval setting teeming with intricate characters, enchanting settlements, and the deep-rooted history of Bohemia.

The story becomes even stronger as it includes several epic primary missions from the game, each providing memorable experiences, challenging decisions, and tough challenges.

Some actions can be as courageous as rescuing noble prisoners, while others can be as cruel as wiping out an entire peaceful town of innocents.

I frequently return to earlier game saves mainly to appreciate the stunning cutscenes once again and savor the captivating dialogue of each expedition. Frankly, each mission seems like an exquisitely crafted work of art, filled with more passion and dedication than many contemporary full-length games.

The Kings Gambit

To Victory!

Once Henry reaches the Kuttnerberg region, he’ll need to find a way to infiltrate King Sigismund’s gathering. To do this, he should put on the attire of a server and pour drinks for the noblemen until the king arrives.

In the meantime, you’ll be working with Godwin, who is assembling Noble Allies for Lichtenstein. This involves chatting with people, doing some favors, and potentially arranging Capon’s marriage as a gesture for a noble alliance. Later, you’ll return to Henry’s storyline, where you’ll serve King Sigismund directly.

This is a straightforward mission devoid of any battles, yet it’s unique as it grants insights into the wisdom, thoughts, strategies, and the essence of the Hungarian monarch’s soul.

Listening to the individual we’ve been at odds with was surprisingly enjoyable. In truth, he wasn’t nearly as villainous as others had portrayed him. Furthermore, there’s an unspoken conclusion to the game hidden within one of the quests. I recommend searching for a dagger in the adjoining room.

Back In The Saddle

Something Is Not Right Here

Following Hans being formally acknowledged as a noble, he and Henry have been assigned the task of conveying an important message to Nebakov Castle. Seems straightforward, doesn’t it? Perhaps we can play some mini-games or even fast-forward through time, and that should do the trick.

However, should you converse with the locals and pay attention to certain intriguing aspects, you’ll discover that the castle is now under control of outlaws, and it’s Sir Jaromier, the rightful owner, who is imprisoned in a cellar.

Slip into his presence for a conversation that leads to an alternative ending scene with Von Bergow, and gain recognition for your keen eye. However, should you choose to finish the quest without any dialogue, you’ll unintentionally bypass all the exciting events, including the fact that you were in danger from surrounding bandits. I find it fascinating how the game doesn’t hesitate to omit content when you don’t delve deeper into the story.

Wedding Crashers

Eat, Dance, Duel… And Duck?

At last, you’ve arrived at Olga’s wedding! Congratulations on making it! Now, go have a blast, dance with the ladies, share drinks with the Moravians, engage in friendly sparring with knights, and feast heartily. To wrap it up, don’t forget to attend the charming yet awkward wedding ceremony towards the end.

Sadly, even the strongest lights eventually dim, and it’s unfortunate that during this moment, a conflict erupts, leaving you with no choice but to protect yourself.

I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure; it was filled with positive energy throughout, and included some enjoyable extra tasks too. However, what truly made it special is that Godwin appears in the final scene.

7.
The Reckoning

I Remember Everyone I Killed, Don’t You?

During the Siege of Suchdol, both Henry and his half-brother, Samuel, bravely decide to help by bringing additional forces. However, as Henry makes his way down from the castle, there’s no sign of Samuel anywhere.

The journey holds numerous complex aspects to it. Essentially, it involves jumping on a horse and riding away, but this act would mean abandoning Samuel, refraining from avenging the betrayal of the French Brabant, and above all, avoiding a confrontation with Markwart.

It’s surprising that they chose to make some crucial cutscenes and interactions optional, but despite that, the optional tasks for this mission significantly enhance the overall satisfaction of the game’s conclusion.

6.
Dance With The Devil

Can’t You Carry Out A Simple Task?

Zizka is planning an assault on Melashov Castle. Gather your resources and sharpen your swords, as this mission will challenge both your courage and your combat abilities.

As a devoted follower, I find myself in a precarious situation: I’ve been teamed up with the Malevolent Dryad to divert the castle guards, but his true intent is to torch an entire village. I must make a choice, either stand by and watch as he ignites the homes of innocent villagers or confront him in a life-or-death duel. Both decisions will impact the final outcome of the game and the very essence of this quest.

In the finale, your negotiation with Von Bergow presents a significant challenge that impacts the romantic storyline between you and Rosa.

In the final act, your negotiations with Von Bergow pose a demanding test, influencing the course of your love affair with Rosa.

On rare occasions, you might find yourself storming a fortress, fighting valiant adversaries, accumulating a fortune, and saving Rosa. In my opinion, such a mission earns an ‘A’ for excitement and adventure.

5.
Exodus

Need A Helping Hand?

Henry, Sam, Lichtenstein, and Kubeyneka swiftly make their way towards the Jewish neighborhood upon hearing about Erik’s soldiers’ massacre. Your task is to protect them from harm and escort them to safety, ensuring they are far from any peril.

Amidst a tempest of swords, you and your fellow warriors stand firm on the frontline, resisting hordes of knights, safeguarding the unprotected. In the final moments, by a thread, you manage to evade the Hungarian army, thereby surrendering their home to the clutches of wickedness.

As a gamer, I must admit that this mission was surprisingly easy, lacking any challenging choices or secret goals to uncover. Yet, the mesmerizing Kubyenka cutscene sent shivers down my spine, while the profound dialogues added a sense of gravity that made it stand out from other missions.

4.
For Whom The Bells Toll

You Can’t Hang Him, He Is A Noble!

Time is growing short, and Henry now needs to find Captain Thomas, as he alone possesses the ability to verify Hans’s noble lineage before it’s too late. In this case, Henry is on a mission to secure Hans’s recognition and prevent his unjust execution for poaching.

As a gamer, I found myself on an unexpected detour leading to this guy’s lair. Little did I know that taking the longest path would land me in hot water, facing off against every guard he had posted along the way. My bare fists became makeshift weapons as I took them down one by one, a grueling ordeal that seemed to last an eternity.

Following my delivery of a potion to break his fever, the quest concludes. A touching scene unfolds as Hans is guided towards the gallows, yet just when all seems lost, Otto Von Bergow reappears at his fortress, rescuing both Hans and Henry, averting their grim fate.

The ability to finish this mission is simply astounding, and despite multiple attempts, I continue to discover distinct and unusual strategies for achieving the goal – a testament to its skillfully crafted design.

3.
The Italian Job

Jest And Judgement

In this thrilling adventure, I find myself preparing for the heist of all time. My crew and I need to sneak into the heart of the Italian court to grab the silver and free the nobles held captive there. Initially, I step into the shoes of Godwin, a masterful actor posing as a cardinal, tasked with resolving the tension between two powerful churches.

As the team attends to the Cardinal, Henry, Adder, Brabant, and Hans are quietly removing guards from the castle and gathering all the silverware from the royal court.

The journey is a rollercoaster ride of feelings. There are several amusing exchanges and conversations in the initial stages that I found particularly enjoyable, but as it progresses, fear and sadness become predominant. It’s one of the pivotal journeys in the narrative that indelibly affects Henry’s storyline.

2.
Necessary Evil

The Choice Is Yours

Following the discovery that Samine’s son has allied with the outlaws of Nebakov, Otto von Bergow dispatches Hashek to investigate the situation concerning Samine. Upon arrival, Hashek becomes enraged and warns the elderly man of impending doom.

In this situation, you’re faced with two options:

1) Eliminate Old Man Samine and his entire village, or
2) Oppose Hashek and his group.

Both decisions have a role in shaping the narrative, and ultimately lead to the burning down of Samine’s estate.

I must admit, making a decision was quite challenging for me. Old companion Samine had shared some exciting journeys with me, while on the other hand stood Van Bergow, who led us to Trosky initially. In the end, I’m relieved I picked Samine because it was difficult to imagine him meeting his demise.

1.
Judgment Day

The End

Following relentless clashes involving bloodshed and weaponry at Suchdol Castle, the foe breaches the gate, but take heart, reinforcements are on their way. Sir Radzig rallies a force of allies, delivering an inspiring speech before charging to retake the fortress. As Henry, you will continue the battle against the remaining adversaries and unite with the rest of the group.

In the climactic stage of this game, the decisions I’ve made throughout my journey are about to shape the ultimate outcome. Will my deceased parents approve of my actions, or will they be disappointed? Can everyone manage to survive, or will some fall along the way? The fate of all rests on the choices I’ve made – whether I chose a path of war or one of protection.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the conclusion, particularly witnessing the group reunited happily, and moreover, making Henry’s parents feel proud. It seemed like a fitting culmination to an extraordinary story in my opinion.
