Carlito Out at WWE, Says Contract Won’t Be Renewed

After the shocking announcement about R-Truth’s departure, I’ve learned that my contract with WWE won’t be extended anymore, signaling the conclusion of my time with the company as Carlito, a veteran wrestler.

46-year-old wrestler, Carlito, announced on social media that his contract with WWE ends in two weeks and won’t be renewed. Playfully teasing, he quipped about WWE asking for repayment due to him allegedly stealing from the company, hinting at his fewer shows on Netflix.

In approximately two weeks, my current contract will expire and unfortunately, it won’t be renewed. To make matters worse, WWE is asking me to repay the funds they advanced to me, allegedly because I misused company resources. Upon reviewing my footage on Netflix over the past few months, my legal team has advised me to return the money in question.

Without a doubt joke-free, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to WWE and particularly the WWE community. You are greatly appreciated! By the way, expect to see me back after another 13 years. May God bless you!

In this version, I’ve aimed to keep the original sentiment while making it more accessible to a wider audience by using simpler language and removing any specific WWE-related terms that might not be familiar to everyone.

Carlito’s WWE Career: From Instant Impact to Surprise Exit

Carlito’s departure follows closely on the heels of R-Truth’s, hinting at a change in WWE’s lineup. Known as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colón, Carlito first appeared in WWE in 2004, triumphing over John Cena in his inaugural bout to claim the United States Championship. Throughout his tenure, he also secured the Intercontinental Championship and numerous Tag Team Championships before leaving in 2010.

Following occasional comebacks, such as the 2021 Royal Rumble and a significant appearance at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, Carlito has once again joined the WWE. He has since partnered with the Latino World Order (LWO) and subsequently became part of The Judgment Day faction. His last match for the WWE took place in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during WrestleMania 41 weekend in April 2025.

What’s next for Carlito?

In wrestling circles outside of WWE, Carlito continues to be active. On May 31, 2025, he stepped into the ring at WWC Summer Madness in Puerto Rico, emerging victorious against Ray González to claim the WWC Puerto Rico Championship. With his departure from WWE, fans are left guessing if and when they might see Carlito back inside a wrestling ring again.
