I’m excited to share some intriguing insights from Kevin Feige regarding “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which promises a grand entrance for Galactus on an epic scale. Similarly, Vanessa Kirby delves deeper into her portrayal of Sue Storm as Invisible Woman and subtly suggests that not only the grown-ups possess extraordinary abilities in this film.
In the most recent edition of Empire Magazine, I’ve come across an exciting feature about a movie – it even graces the cover twice! This magazine has some fresh, never-before-seen snapshots of the talented duo, Kirby and Pedro Pascal, portraying Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards.
Kevin Feige Calls the Fantastic Four “Marvel’s Most Important Characters”
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige says this film is a dream project.
Feige shared with Empire that he believes no other four characters hold a more significant role in Marvel’s history.
Feige stated that the purchase of Fox by Disney enabled the team to join the MCU for the first time: ‘When Disney acquired Fox, it was like an unforeseen wish fulfilled,’ Feige expressed. ‘It couldn’t have come at a better moment, allowing us to embark on a new chapter. They are Marvel’s original family, and I was eager to give them the respect they deserve.’
Feige also hinted at a more faithful and bold approach to the source material, including Galactus.
He openly acknowledged that there had been a lingering apprehension about appearing foolish in the past, recalling previous adaptations. “In another era,” he said, “some might find the idea of someone wearing a large, angular helmet strolling through a city amusing or goofy. To me, it’s incredible.
Vanessa Kirby Nerds Out Over Sue Storm
Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm, said she went full nerd in her first meeting with Marvel.
“I’m such a Sue nerd,” she said. “I think I out-nerded everyone in that room.”
Kirby immersed himself thoroughly in the scientific aspects of his character, finding himself captivated by quantum physics. He became surprisingly engrossed, to the point where he could talk at length about topics like cellular vibrational frequencies.
In my perspective as a film critic, the director subtly hinted at a pivotal motif in this movie – one that resonates profoundly with its title, “First Steps.” As you ponder it, the message becomes clear: Supernatural abilities aren’t exclusive to adults. The family bond is sacred, and tampering with it can have dire consequences.
As a movie buff, I’ve got some exciting news to share! You might already know that Sue, one of the characters, is pregnant in the film we’re all watching. Well, recently, a sneak peek was unveiled, and it turns out that their son, Franklin Richards, will make his appearance on screen. Can’t wait to see him!
Matt Shakman on Sue’s Role as a Leader
Matt Shakman mentioned that the portrayal of Sue in this adaptation will extend beyond being the emotional heart of the team; instead, she’ll also serve as a strong and influential leader.
According to Shakman, she’s the motivating, optimistic head who embodies the values of the Fantastic Four. He likens her role to that of the United Nations Secretary-General, hinting at how the movie is influenced by later comics.
A previous interview also went into Sue’s politics in the film.
