Back in May 31st at the Tudum event, AJ McLean debuted a sneak peek of Liam Payne’s last project, entitled “Building the Band,” following the musician’s passing in October 2024. At this event, McLean also assumed hosting duties and explained the show’s concept to the audience.

Intriguingly, McLean hinted that the upcoming series promises a level of excitement never experienced by the audience previously. Regarding Payne’s participation, it’s worth noting that the late singer was part of the judging team alongside Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger.

As a devoted follower, I eagerly peek into the sneak preview of the upcoming Netflix series, where the judges stride into the studio and into their separate rooms. Upon meeting the other artists, I, as a musician, grapple with keeping the right harmony and rhythm flowing. We discuss the unique challenge of finding bandmates without the benefit of face-to-face interaction.

In one conversation, a woman remarks, “I’ve got a unique type of ensemble in my mind, more precisely, a female vocal group.” Meanwhile, another individual expresses his desire, “I really yearn to witness those performers.

Liam Payne’s tragic death 

After wrapping up his work for the TV series, Payne was en route to Buenos Aires to attend Niall Horan’s concert. Unfortunately, a few days later, the singer met a tragic end when he fell from his hotel room balcony, which was situated on the third floor.

Medical authorities disclosed that the deceased singer sustained a skull fracture and additionally endured significant injuries in other areas of his body.

In November, Liam Payne was given a burial, with his One Direction bandmates joining for the funeral ceremonies.
