Tim Miller Aims to Direct X-Men Reboot in the MCU!

Tim Miller is all set to don his costume once more for Marvel, with his focus firmly on the upcoming X-Men reboot within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the conclusion of the Avengers’ “Secret Wars” and ushering in Kevin Feige’s era of mutants.

In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, the creative mind behind Deadpool and Netflix’s Love Death + Robots, as well as Prime Video’s Secret Level, expresses his eagerness to helm an X-Men film under Marvel Studios’ leadership, now that mutants are officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Miller Reaches Out to Marvel Boss Kevin Feige

Miller mentioned that, as a child, the X-Men were his gateway into the world of comics, and he has since contacted Feige to put forth his argument.

My preferred superheroes are the X-Men. I reached out to Kevin Feige and expressed, ‘If there’s any opportunity for me in the Marvel Universe, making the X-Men a part of it would be a dream come true.’

Previously, Miller had been working on a movie based on the X-Men, specifically focusing on issue #143, at 20th Century Fox. However, following the Disney merger, this project was halted. This story concept, as described by Miller, combined elements of ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Alien’, with Kitty Pryde as the protagonist, battling a demon solo within the X-Mansion.

Also Interested in DC’s The Authority

While X-Men is his top pick, Miller also named The Authority as his dream DC project.

Should DC decide to produce ‘The Authority’ at some point, it would be my all-time favorite comic – imagine the Justice League but with lethal actions. There seems to be ample opportunity for exploration and storytelling within this genre,” he expressed.

A Fan of Thunderbolts

Miller highly commended the latest Marvel production titled “Thunderbolts,” labeling it as “outstanding” due to its realistic action sequences, strong acting, and consistent themes.

It’s worth noting that the director of Thunderbolts, Jake Schreier, is apparently in discussions about directing Marvel’s inaugural X-Men movie.

What’s next for the X-Men in the MCU?

Confirmation has been made that the actors from Fox’s X-Men series, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, will be joining the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday”. Additionally, Channing Tatum will reprise his role as Gambit in this upcoming movie, having previously appeared in “Deadpool & Wolverine”.

Wild rumors are also flying about who will make up the new members of Feige’s X-Men reboot.

What’s next for Deadpool?

According to reports, it’s suggested that Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool might make an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. Moreover, Reynolds has hinted at the start of a fresh Deadpool film, which might include X-Men characters, leading some fans to guess it could be about Uncanny X-Force.
