As I settled into my seat for tonight’s Tudum event, broadcasted live on Netflix, I was thrilled to learn that the long-awaited third season of Squid Game – the streamer’s most successful series to date – is set to debut on June 27th. Picking up immediately after the nail-biting cliffhanger from Season 2, our protagonist, Gi-hun (Player 456), finds himself at an all-time low following a failed insurrection and the tragic loss of a dear friend. Yet, the games persist, and this time they’ve become more lethal than ever.

As a devoted cinephile, I eagerly share this insight: “In the heat of the game, Gi-hun pledges to bring an end to it all, yet the Mastermind subtly makes his next play. However, every game concludes… and Squid Game will leave us globally stunned one final time, as shared by stars Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun at the Tudum event.
Gi-hun Faces His Breaking Point
In Season 3, Gi-hun finds himself in a situation where he needs to take action instead of just responding. As the other players advance into high-risk games with severe repercussions, Gi-hun is compelled to make crucial choices. With each fresh game, staying alive becomes more challenging and trust among participants scarce.
The Front Man Returns, and So Do the VIPs
In-ho resumes his position as Lead Performer, managing the upcoming series of events and greeting high-profile guests. Simultaneously, Jun-ho, who is still alive and on a quest to find the island, gets nearer to uncovering the truth. However, he’s unaware that someone is secretly monitoring his actions.

Once again, Hwang Dong-hyuk takes the helm as director, scriptwriter, and producer. Previously, he was honored with an Emmy for his exceptional direction in Season 1, which signified a significant milestone for Asian content creators on Netflix.
Originally appearing actors like Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-jun return for another round. Joining them are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, along with others, with Park Hee-soon making a special guest appearance.
Final Round Begins June 27 on Netflix

This final chapter promises to wrap up the gripping storylines revolving around Gi-hun, the Front Man, and the ruthless games that sparked it all.
