Mike White, the show’s creator, recently provided the long-awaited explanation about a puzzling scene involving Victoria and Leslie Bibb’s character, Kate.
The third season of “The White Lotus” was highly popular, leaving audiences eagerly tuning in each week, attempting to guess which character would meet their fate next.
In this series, the ensemble was truly stellar, with Parker Posey particularly shining as Victoria Ratliff. Among all the characters, Victoria stood out for her witty humor stemming from her aloof and frosty demeanor. However, some viewers were left scratching their heads as to why Victoria acted so harshly towards Kate.
In an appearance on the talk show Live with Kelly and Mark, Sarah Silverman inquired about the peculiar exchange between Victoria and Kate, expressing curiosity about whether there was a hidden storyline or if a scene had been omitted. Mike White, in response, stated straightforwardly that it was meant to portray Victoria as being difficult or rude.
Silverman stated, “I wrote him asking, ‘What’s the deal with Leslie Bibb – why didn’t we discover why Parker Posey froze Leslie Bibb out? Why did she act like she didn’t know her? Was it something that got left out or… what’s the explanation? He replied, ‘No, I was simply demonstrating that she’s a difficult woman.’
In essence, their relationship is straightforward, without any concealed conflicts or mysterious past events. The character of Victoria was merely portrayed as brusque and unfriendly in this scenario.
