Best Revenant build in Elden Ring Nightreign

The Revenant serves as Elden Ring Nightreign’s spectral summoner, making them an excellent choice for strategic, magic-focused support. However, it’s important to note that this eerie doll is not limited to healing and evading; it also packs a punch in combat.

She excels in prolonged battles where she can set the tempo, bring forth reinforcements, and whittle down opponents with Dragon Spells or powerful Sorceries. By employing strategic positioning and tactical summoning at the right moments, she transforms into a master manipulator on the battlefield, pulling all the strings from behind her phantom fortress of allies.

The predicament? Revenant’s defenses are as delicate as paper, and her most potent abilities require time to execute. She’s not designed for hand-to-hand combat and could be easily destroyed if you err in summoning or misuse your FP. However, for players who enjoy controlling spirits, casting spells from the shadows, and transforming enemy remains into allies, Revenant is an awe-inspiring, chilling choice.

How to play Revenant

To start playing as Revenant, you’ll initially have to gain access to her by completing the first expedition successfully and then returning the pocket watch to its proper keeper.

In essence, the game “Revenant” revolves around themes of Faith and Magic. Faith fuels her Dragon Communion Spells and healing abilities, whereas Magic amplifies her status alterations and reinforces her innate talent, Necromancy.

Her FP (Focus Points) pool is incredibly large, which is advantageous since she relies heavily on it. A significant part of her gameplay involves unleashing potent spells and keeping up her spirit summons. While melee combat isn’t entirely avoided, it should be a last resort. Initially, she equips Claws, but it’s wiser to trade one for a Sacred Seal and the other for either a Greatshield or bow.

As a gamer, I’m all about playing from the backlines, where I can summon spirits to keep my foes occupied. When their attention is on my allies, I unleash devastating abilities like Rotten Breath and Elden Stars. My favorite trick with Revenant is Summon Spirit – it allows me to pick among three spectral comrades, each with a unique playstyle. They excel at providing meat shields or creating distractions, making them invaluable allies on the battlefield.

In tough situations or when aiming to reverse the course of a battle, summon Immortal March. This ability revives nearly deceased allies, grants temporary invincibility (able to take damage but not die) for you and your summons, and activates your spirit’s ultimate action. It serves as your emergency response, game-changing move, and most versatile support asset in one package.

Revenant excels in prolonged battles, particularly when facing challenging groups or the Nightlords. She might seem sluggish at first, but once she gets going, it’s difficult to halt her. Avoid trying to use her as a frontline spellcaster; instead, consider her a tactician, not a tank.

Revenant abilities & attributes

Abilities

Passive: Necromancy

In a battle scenario, defeating an adversary might summon their spirit, which will fight alongside you temporarily. These spectral beings will relentlessly pursue the targets you attack, but they’ll vanish after a minute and cannot be restored or treated. However, you can have several of these spirits active at once. They are particularly useful for overwhelming enemies or creating opportunities to perform spells.

Character Skill: Summon Spirit

Play a haunted lyre to call one of three ghostly companions:

  • Helen: A fast, evasive attacker with a rapier combo.
  • Frederick: A tanky bruiser with hammer swings.
  • Sebastian: A ranged caster who fires ghostflame bolts.

In the heat of battle, pick the one to call forth, but remember, it requires a brief moment, leaving you temporarily exposed.

Ultimate Art: Immortal March

Triggers a ghostly transformation that:

  • Makes you and your active spirit immortal (survive any hit at 1 HP).
  • Revives fallen teammates within range.
    Activates your spirit’s ultimate move.

Most effective for withstanding your boss’s attacks or resurrecting teammates in cooperative play. However, be cautious not to let it expire when you’re in a tight spot.

Best Relic effects for Revenant

The main focus should be on enhancing your Force Points (FP), Religion (Faith), and Mystical Knowledge (Arcane). These elements are crucial for casting spells effectively, maintaining your summoned entities, and improving your Necromantic abilities.

Choose artifacts that boost your spell-casting speed or extend the duration of your summoned allies. Those that provide healing over time for you or your allies are particularly valuable. Since Revenant lacks inherent sustainability, every second matters.

Rather than focusing on melee enhancements, it would be more beneficial to prioritize spells, boosts for status effects, and relics that empower you when summoning spirits or resurrecting allies. Avoid the role of a brawler.

Early Game

  • Increased Faith and Arcane
  • Boost to Dragon Incantation damage
  • FP regen or max FP boost

Late Game

  • Necromancy-enhancing relics (summoned ghosts deal more damage or last longer)
  • Reduced Spirit cooldowns
  • Revived allies gain temporary damage immunity

Best weapons

The Revenant performs optimally, armed with a Sacred Seal in one grip and a Greatshield in the other. Her claws serve well during initial phases, but they significantly weaken later on.

Early Game

Greatshields

Seals

Last Game
